I made my travel arrangements on priceline's name your own price the day before my stay due to a family emergency so I didn't know where I was staying until my bid was accepted and card was charged. I was happy that it was a Marriott. When I checked in, I was asked if it was for business or pleasure and I explained my situtaion and the front desk clerk was very nice. Sadly, I learned soon that I was too late and my family member had already passed during my drive. On our way out to dinner, I'm not sure what exactly the conversation was but, and i broke down in tears with my mom, she came out to give me a hug and gave their condolences.
When we realized we would be staying longer, and having more family members arrive, they weren't able to match my priceline rate, but gave us a great rate for our room and my sister's room, On another day during our visit, they handed me a sympathy card signed by the staff. I was shocked. I have never stayed anywhere with a front desk staff who actually cared about their guests this much and went out of their way to help us out,.
The maintenance man was extremely friendly and helpful. Even left us a note when he was when in our room to fix the lamp and when we needed a screwdriver.
Breakfast was fresh and hot daily. I had no complaints over the food.
The only downfall really was housekeeping. The first day both our beds were made. The second day only one bed was made. The third day again only one bed was made and a note was left on the unmade bed that they couldnt make it due to personal belongings on it. The only item on it every time was a stuffed bear. It was the strangest thing. They also wouldn't throw out obviously used cups. And on the last night when i bent down to the bed to make sure i had everything, i noticed there were fritos on the floor between the bed and nightstand and some trash. We did not eat fritos during our stay.
Also, the tv was weirdly placed infront of the mirror on the dresser....but was bolted down, so you couldnt move it to use the mirror better!
My sister and her husband had some issues with their toilet and air conditioner, but it was tolerable, but they mentioned it to the staff upon checkout so they could fix it, and they ended up crediting my dad's marriott points.
The staff here is simply amazing. I wish every hotel i stayed at had employees who cared this much. Thank you Fairfield Inn for making a sad few days a lot more bearable.
