Having endured too many days of hot weather in our home town, we took a trip to Bandon to enjoy cool weather last week. We dined at Lord Bennett's a few years back and remembering how much we enjoyed it, we decided to go back for dinner. We were not disappointed one little bit. Our wait staff treated us so kindly, fully explained the specials as well as answering questions about other items on the menu. Both my husband and I had their outstanding clam chowder and sauteed shrimp done in a wonderful sauce. We devoured the fresh baked dill bread and could not leave without buying a loaf to go. The wine selection was very good, was rather hard to make a choice, but our waiter was well versed in the wines and I was pleased with his recommendation. I strongly recommend this beautiful dining establishment for the views, wine list, wait staff, and for the views!
Our second time for Lord Bennett's Restaurant and Lounge did NOT disappoint!!! Halibut choice for both of us seems to melt in you mouth!! Service is on the spot and not in your face! Views of beach and giant rocks from every angle! Horse Riding Club groups were fun to watch!.
Didn't want to venture far after a long drive, so chose Lord Bennettt's because it was close to our hotel. It was an excellent choice. Our server was particularly good, and as a local, was able to share much knowledge with me husband and me, diehard East Coasters.
Had a lovely salad with homemade cranberry vinaigrette, and at our waiter's suggestion, ordered the locally caught spot shrimp, which had a buttery lobster taste and consistency. It was served with a steamy baked potato and a trio of vegetables. There was a full dessert cart, but we opted out. But they serve a wonderful pecan diamond confection along with your check. There's also a full bar, and it's a good place for a Dark & Stormy, while watching the fog roll in and the waves crash.
We visited Lord Bennet's because of the convenience to our hotel. Had some excellent raw oysters and a good piece of halibut. Wife had a nice seafood combo. Waiter was very good, only complaint is the restaurant itself is little dated. Old tabled and chairs and wrinkled napkins.
