My husband and I stayed in the middle of July for 3 nights. The days were hot with strong sun, the evenings were cool.

We arrived on a Saturday, and enjoyed the oven cooked pizzas made by Darren for dinner.

The landscape is visually spectacular. We were both tired and once we arrived, we decided not to leave until we checked out. We bought some food on our way in.

During the days, I sat at the tent, on the deck, moving around in the shade, reading, absorbing the quiet and the beautiful landscape around me.

Lunches and dinners, we made using the fully equipped kitchen and outdoor grill area. Bring your own groceries. You will have to leave them at the house.

The beds are comfortable and warm. The warm duvet is important as the nights can get chilly. Do remember to take something warm for the mornings. Getting out of the warm bed in the chilling morning can be a bit of a shock! I had a fleece I put on before getting out of bed and I was good to go.

The tents are airy and rejuvenating. They are canvas tents with large beds, private toilets, a sink and a shower. The shower and toilet are open air, but there is a wall that is probably over 5 foot, surrounding the toilet and shower. You can look out while showering, but keep private stuff private. There is a deck that wraps around the tent, providing a sitting area around the tent.

While we were there, there tended to be a good breeze during the day, but during the night the breeze died down.

The landscape is lovely. You can see snowcapped mountains in the distance, the high desert landscape around you with the canyon across the way. The view from the pool is amazing.

The smell of the sage plants adds to the experience.

Darren offers hot air balloon trips. We saw him take off.

This was a unique and memorable experience. I would recommend this to a friend. You can make it as low key or as active as you desire. We enjoyed ourselves and would go back.

Room Tip: Air has excellent views, shares the top of a hillock with Fire, has a good breeze and the entrance a...

My husband and I recently went to Panacea at the Canyon this past weekend for his birthday.

We've gone to many places around Seattle and I stumbled upon this gem because I wanted to find a unique location for us to spend a relaxing weekend. This was just the place.

The location is extremely remote, and the terrain and topography in Central Oregon are stunning. The tent is absolutely gorgeous; we reserved the 'Fire' tent which had the King Bed and skylight we could see the stars through at night. The bed was comfortable.

The communal spaces are great, and the kitchen is well-stocked. We were able to bring in our own food and drinks. Darren was a great host and answered our many questions.

This is an extremely unique and different location. It was very peaceful and a good hub for exploring Bend, Redmond and the surrounding areas.

A Few Recommendations:
-Plan activities during the day - right now it's too hot to stay in your tent past 11ish
-Bring clothing for hot and cold temperatures
-Get a car, as there is much to see around the area and Bend area
-The Crescent Moon Ranch with the Alpacas was a fun stop
-The Cascade Lake highway was stunning (Elk Lake was my favorite)
-Bos Taurus in Bend is AMAZING - go there!
-Smith Rock was gorgeous, Misery Ridge is a great hike

Bend/Redmond was a great place to visit in the summer - we will be definitely going back. I highly recommend staying at Panacea at the Canyon if you're looking for a unique, peaceful and fun adventure!

My girlfriend and I stayed for 2 nights at Panacea. It's a beautiful, secluded, spot in the high desert. The tent site was well decorated and cozy and had all the amenities you could wish for!
The host greeted us with a plate of cheese and cold beers and someone prepared dinner for us for our first night. This was a very unique experience!
The place is very close to many beautiful hikes like Smith Rock which the host was kind enough to recommend.

The only downside was that we were left completely alone for most of the second day and evening which felt a little odd considering that we were the only guests and that there is little to no cell phone reception. Definitely a little intimidating but we truly had a great time otherwise! Breakfast was delicious and the pool area very scenic.

Would love to go back!

We loved our experience at Panacea at the Canyon. We stayed in August and the property had recently opened. Our tent was really comfortable, and we opted for the stargazing tent so we could see the stars at night from our bed. It was great to have a shower and sink and toilet connected to the deck. We loved all the trails to walk around the property, including the lookout benches and pool area. They make each meal and each was delicious. They brought in a chef one night that cooked dinner just for us, and we shot a bow and arrow near the dining spot. We had a private yoga class one morning. We came from wine country, and they allowed us to open the wines we had bought there. The sunset from the pool was beautiful. Everyone was so nice and accommodating, I highly recommend this place!!

Room Tip: Book a stargazer room to see the stars from your bed, with cutout tent window
