Only open on the weekend, what? I saw people walking inside, not sure why they're not open during spring break. There were people everywhere.

The big attraction here is the Zodiac whale boat tours....They are WONDERFUL!!! Carrie has added a great little museum at a very small cost for all to enjoy. It is very worth going through, and helps to support all the wonderful effort Carrie has put into making Depoe Bay a bit more special! Great for kids and adults alike.
Best to get your reservations in ahead of time for the whale tours.

the zodiac was comfortable, and even though the water was choppy, we did not feel seasick at all. Someone said it is because they don't use diesel fuel, so there isn't that awful smell. We were on a raft that had seating for six people. Our captain was very informative and obviously knew a lot about whales and was very proud of Carrie. He kept it interesting and entertaining, even playing the ukulele to try and coax the whales closer. We saw quite a few whales, maybe ten. It's hard not to see them at Depoe Bay. We saw them from our condo's balcony, but it is definitely more exciting and fun to see them from the water. A great experience. The museum has a bathroom, btw.

This place isn't big, fancy, or new. They do have a friendly staff, and some interesting artifacts. Most people coming in are going on a whale watch. We weren't, but they told us we could get $ off if we come back to do this (save your receipt).
