We made our reservations at this motel through hotel.com because the reservationist told us it was the only place available. There was some NCAA event in town, it seems. As we drive to the motel we see that 6th St is 'motel row.' And every single place had vacancies; it was a Wed. night. When we check in there is a sign that pets aren't allowed so we think, "No problem, we'll leave the dog in the car." We were stuck because we had already paid through the website. When we gave our dog a drink of water before turning in for the night (a small Westie, he had been in the car all evening except for a walk around the block) the owner/manager calls us on the phone and threatened to call the police to throw us out. We were flabbergasted! The room stank even though we had reserved a smoke free room and the a/c didn't work so the room was like a steam bath. We were so angry and insulted we just left and went down the street to another place. I'd rather sleep in my car than stay at the Nite-mare Inn.

We chose this hotel because it was only $50 and we only needed a place to sleep before an early morning run. It was terrible- it had a bad odor, it was very small with no microwave or refrigerator, the toilet would barely flush completely and there was only lukewarm water for a shower. But the absolute worst was when I pulled down the sheets and there were small pieces of unidentifiable debris! It was disgusting, luckily we had a sleeping bag with us. This was a very, very run down and unkept business that I would strongly discourage anyone from using.

Room Tip: Do not rent here, there were other options close by for similar price.

OK. So after reading all of the bad reviews on here about this motel, I was bracing for the worst, but this was the cheapest option and I decided to bite the bullet and stay at the Nite Inn. Our first interaction was with the son of the family that owns the place. He checked us in and was very pleasant and helpful. I had read on here that they call you in the morning to force you to check out. No such thing happened. In fact, we got up at around 10:30 and since the check out time is 11, I walked out and talked to the father and asked him to give us some extra time. He politely agreed. The room was basic, but very clean and smelled good. There were clean fresh towels and we even asked for more which they gave us. To sum it all up, I think the bad rap that this place gets on here is a bit unfair. If I pay $43 a night, I won't expect Ritz Carlton treatment and I think for $43, it was great value! If you want "tweeker motel" with a grouchy unpleasant lazy hotel manager, go to Executive Motel down the street which was the pits and made us reminisce to the previous night when we stayed at the Nite Inn!

Room Tip: The further from the road, the better!
