We escaped the cold fog inversion in the valley and went to the south coast for 5 days this January. We found the Gold Beach Inn to be the best value in the three places we stayed, so much so that we extended our stay from 2 to 3 days. We had a big room with ocean view and a kitchenette for $75/night plus tax, so about $81 total. Ask for the kitchenette, not all the rooms have them. I hate going out for breakfast. The room had a king sized bed, and a sitting area by the window with two cushy swivel recliner chairs and a table. Since we didn't want to climb stairs, we took the first floor, but the views are certainly better on floors 2 and 3. There's a nice little garden and a pavilion with hottubs out by the beach -- aaaah, lovely on a sunny January day to sit in the hottub and watch the ocean. The rooms are well back from Highway 101, so there is no traffic noise. We walked the beach every day with a plastic bag each and picked up trash, some of which was interesting. We were hoping to visit small museums on our trips, but a lot of them are closed in January. Many of the restaurants also have reduced hours, but we found lots of good food nevertheless and with the kitchenette, we sometimes got coldcuts and English muffins from the grocery store and made sandwices in the room for lunch. We would efinitely go back.

Room Tip: All the rooms have an ocean view, so you cant miss on that. Choices are number of beds, with or with...

Clean rooms, looks freshly painted with updated tile. I was impressed by the beautiful original paintings in the room! The view was incredible and we saw deer too. The hottubs were on a large deck overlooking the ocean. No mildew smell. Staff was friendly too. Would definetly stay again. We are chronic road trippers from Colorado and this was the best hotel for one of the cheapest rates we stayed at.

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. While the decor is a little dated the room was very clean and comfortable. The television is HUGE, the chairs are comfortable and while I would have appreciated a desk, I realize there may not be a lot of business travelers in Gold Beach. I absolutely loved the ocean views from the private balcony and the oceanfront spas are AMAZING! This hotel was not perfect, but was well worth the money. I will gladly stay here when I come again.

Room Tip: The top floor rooms have the very best views!

This property very similar to others in the area we've stayed at. You go for the beach, not the room. While clean and pleasant, not everything works like you'd find in a higher end property. For instance, toilet ran through (waves acted provided noise cancellation), carpet was worn, and door to balcony had trouble opening and closing (ocean impact). Grounds are very nice, including spas on the way to the beach. Staff is friendly and they are pet friendly. Breakfast very adequate (bagels, toast, cereal, etc). Coffee not so good. Location and access to beach are the best.

We were pleasantly surprised by the "little things" coupon for 15% off dinner, fancy folded towels, huge tv, BIG picture window, and recliners were so nice to have! I cant wait to go back. Oh and the hot tubs near the ocean provided are awesome too! They have clear windbreaks suppounding them to keep the wind off. It was just what we needed for a runaway from home weekend!
I took a few Pictures on my phone as soon as I figure out how to post them, they will be here.

Room Tip: 4th Floor had an amazing view of miles of beach, over looked a garden, sunset was amazing. We didnt...
