August 23, 2017 - As part of our day to see as many falls as possible, we stopped at Horsetail Falls and we were not disappointed. After a short walk from the parking area, we were in a position to see the falls. If you wanted to take a slightly longer walk, you could actually position yourself to be able to walk under the falls. Either way, the Housetail Falls is beautiful.

Absolutely beautiful waterfalls. Park right off the the road and walk right up to the falls. You can walk down to the pool of water at the bottom of the falls and sit and enjoy.

Horsetails Falls does does not receive the press that Mulinomah Falls does, but they are beautiful in the their right. Parking was a little tight, but we found a spot. Truly worth a few minutes of your vacation time.

Lovely little detour to see these beautiful falls. There is a viewing area that is easily accessible from the road and plenty of hiking options. We hiked the roughly .5 mile path up to the falls, it's a relatively easy hike, a bit steep and rocky underfoot but not too strenuous with the reward of more lovely falls that you can walk under.

The drive on the scenic highway along the Columbia River was great and offered many idyllic stops. This falls was one. A busy place but visited at peak time. Amazing that it is so close to the road!
