Yup exactly what you read. They charge the 'Resort Fee' or 'Amenity Fee'... such dishonest practice. Bad enough when they do that to you at a resort, but they do this at what can only be described as a refurbished and cleaned up motel with new furniture and paint. For what you ask? So you can go to the chain-gym across the street and ... a few bottles of water. You'd trust a business trying to get one past you to provide shelter for you and your family? Yeah, no thank you.

I stayed at Hotel Modera in May 2018 for 4 days 3 nights... I would rate the cleanliness a 4 out of 5... everything was pretty clean and decent except the chaise in the room. The staff was friendly and helpful.. it’s not a very close walk to the redline which takes you to the airport, but it’s a pretty good walk if you don’t mind a trek. It is a doable walk but not for people with difficulty walking, etc...The rooms have a nice modern sleek design. The food from the onsite restaurant is pretty good too! There is no pool.

Perfect location to stay in Portland, very nice accommodations, Edward and Joan at the desk extremely helpful; brought us supplies to our room from the pantry when asked, no questions!
Stayed two days, in two rooms, four of us total, and they were able to give us adjacent rooms at the last minute! Breakfast downstairs very nice, doormen always there, always eager to open the doors for us.

Interesting property in downtown Portland. The rooms are small but very well configured. King size beds come with flat bottom sheets that do not stay tucked in to the bed. No pillow choices - all were very firm. Made for a not great night's sleep. We had a drink on the patio which is a pleasant space but the music is the mind numbing throbbing kind. Glad our room wasn't close to the patio. Staff ran from very friendly, most of them, to downright rude, one of them.

Not only was the property beautiful, the food in their on-site restaurant delicious, and the room very comfortable - but the staff and the customer service was beyond great! Even after my stay, when I had difficulty with the billing, their employee - Shelby - went out of her way to help figure out the solution to my issue and make things "right". I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone!
