My one night stay at the Heathman was pleasant. The room was well appointed, but a bit small for the price. The lobby is not what you'd expect for a grand old hotel. The lounge area with an overlooking mezzanine is a very relaxing place for a drink or just a quiet moment. The staff is excellent - and incredibly helpful. There is free internet service for guests on 3 available computers on the mezzanine level. I have written a separate review on the hotel restaurant - which I enjoyed very much.
