My wife and I decided to try and new 'to us' Thai place for take-out this week - we had driven through their parking lot by chance a few days prior, so this place stood out and we decided to try it.
My wife ordered Drunken Noodles (w/ tofu - med heat), I ordered Pad Thai (w/ chicken - med/hot heat), and our daughter ordered the House Special Fried Rice (w/ chicken).
I thought my Pad Thai flavor was spot on to many of my favorite Thai places up north in Portland, however, unlike many of those, Tup Tim doesn't adhere to the heat scale we've come to expect from Thai food. Neither of my wife or my dishes seemed to have any of the heat we'd expect. I even added chili flakes to mine when I got home.
Again, I thought the flavor of the food was great, just lacked any heat. We've both decided we'll try it again, but this time we'll eat there, where we might get a better idea if there's a scale of heat to order from.
As for the restaurant itself, I thought it was nice, quaint, clean, and tastefully decorated. There's a fair amount of tables and elbow room for a relatively small restaurant, but certainly, enough to enjoy a good meal.
