Nice hotel and scheduled for an update / remodel so limited parking with the mass of containers sitting around the building. My BIG complaint is the garbage pickup at 6:25 AM on Saturday morning. It was so loud it must have woken half the building. We talked to the front desk, and it was passed off as a city thing. The hotel needs to fight for their guests instead not caring.

This hotel is better than many Courtyard/ Springhill/Residence Inn we have stayed at, in fact it’s better than some full service Marriotts. Saturday evening 3pm arrival room ready and receptionist very nice. King executive suite definitely worth it, you get extra space with large sofa and 2 huge TV’s. Hotel spotless and everything worked, Walked to Cousins for dinner across street food was great and they stay open late. Breakfast next day excellent and we were able to eat on outside patio. This is the #1 hotel in The Dalles I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property to anyone.
Affordable, Clean & Comfortable room, friendly staff, hot breakfast had all the required accompaniments (Orange Juice tasted fresh & not too watered down, additional item + eggs & bacon served, Half & Half in jug... not just tiny containers, etc). Great location easy on/off the Hwy + walking distance to Cousins restaurant we like to visit when we travel through here and walking distance to Tesla Supercharger that we must use when travelling by. We travel across North America in our Tesla and usually will stay at Marriott brands: Fairfield, Springhill, Courtyard, etc... Even though it may seem all "Fairfields' or 'Springhills' may be the same - they are NOT! This one for this trip was very good, one of the best of the 6 we stayed in.

BonVoy is the program everyone loves to hate. The point discrepancy among hotels is glaring. Here at The Dalles I was compelled to use 29,000 points for one night for the smallest king room I have ever encountered. Nice building but teeny rooms. And breakfast was unremarkable. No bread and no toast!! What about guests who prefer a light breakfast rather than mystery sausage, premade omelettes, and glops of oatmeal? Marriott let me down.

Pros: The room was nice and clean, had all the usual amenities. Bathroom was large and well equipped. The room was quiet, with very little noise from anywhere outside. Beds (we had a 2 queen) were comfortable, with different pillow choices. Internet was pretty good. Staff was friendly. Fresh cookies in the lobby each night.
Cons: Check-in took a lot longer than it should have. Only one clerk, and he was on the phone. I noticed other people in the back room, but none came out to help, even with several people in line.
-Biggest con was the breakfast. While the breakfast area was spacious, clean and inviting, the food was terrible! Pre-packaged items that were not very good, some under-cooked bacon one morning, greasy sausage the next. No waffles like most places have. "Blueberry" muffins that tasted like blueberry perfume. Not at all what I'd expect when paying this much for a room.
