Went here because the family style restaurant we usually go to "Plain and Fancy" has changed and is now a BBQ Restaurant. This restaurant did not disappoint. Food is delicious, especially the cucumber salad and the chicken corn chowder, both highly recommended by our server, and she was right, these dishes are not to be missed.

Service is very attentive without being intrusive.

We will be back. Thanks for the delicious meal.

We arrived with a short wait. After we were seated we waited about 10 minutes before someone came to the table. I don't think they assigned anyone to us and the person came by and asked if anyone was helping us.

Salad- where can you go wrong with fresh cut up veggies, a variety of toppings and dressing. A+
Soup- very hot turkey noodle and chicken corn soup but the latter cooled very quickly.
Rolls- fresh
The rest just goes downhill from there.
*Broasted chicken - set, very dry. Needed to be doused in gravy
*Mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. Needed salt, flavor and the noodles had the consistency of the mashed potatoes (OVERcooked) with cheap cheese sauce (think frozen Stoaffers),
*Vegetables - overcooked green beans and zucchini that when you bit into it disintegrated. Very limited vegetables other than salad bar.
*Carved meat was overcooked
*Ham meatballs had about 1 pound of sugar in each

Dessert: soft serve ice cream with jimmies did not disappoint
Shoefly pie- took one bite and didn't try a second.
Overall it was a terribly disappointing meal. We were here 20 years ago and it was VERY good and I have to say Now, the quality is that of a cheap buffet.

Thank SydKaty

The smorgasbord was very good. There was plenty of choices to choose. The cost was under $10.00. They also charged per age for children. I would recommend this restaurant.

We stayed at the Bird-in-Hand Family Inn with friends and had a dinner and breakfast at the
restaurant. We didn't have the smorgasbord at dinner and the food was mediocre at best but
the service and price were both very good. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet more than dinner.
There was a good selection of food, the price was great, and the service was very good too.
Our breakfast waitress, Whitney, was excellent and very pleasant. The one problem was that
we went to breakfast on a Saturday morning and they were extremely busy. We had at least a
15 minute wait to be seated. So I would definitely recommend breakfast but maybe try a weekday
and I think I would try somewhere else for dinner.

Dear dannyo62003, thank you for staying with us and for telling us about your dining experience. I am glad that you enjoyed breakfast and that your service was excellent. I have passed your feedback about Whitney on to the restaurant manager. I am sorry that you found the dinner foods unsatisfactory and the Saturday morning breakfast very busy. I hope you will join us for breakfast when you are in town again.
