Saturday evening with some really great friends enjoyed a delicious dinner.
After having to wait just a few minutes beyond our reservation time, we were seated upstairs away from the busy, crowded bar area. We started with a couple glasses of wine, a pear martini and a bloody Mary. The martini was excellent, covered with an egg white foam. Ended up ordering a second one a little later.
Short list of specials yielded some seasonal additions. For the table we had the grilled romaine, a mushroom salad and the house made cheese. All were hits. Our mains included the shorts ribs, sea scallops, the NY Strip and short bone rib eye. The rib eye was one of the best steaks I have had in years.
Desserts : the chocolate cheesecake and a bread pudding. The cheesecake wasn't special.
Service was good but not spectacular. Food was very, very good.
Definitely a social occasions restaurant.
A couple tips :
- parking was annoyingly crowded. Cars were checking the tiny lot.
- the steaks and grilled meats are expensive ($36 - $70). Check out the menu online to avoid sticker shock
