My wife and I made a trip to the Brandywine Region, a beautiful, garden and history rich area we have wanted to visit for years. We selected Hamanassett because it looked so good in pictures and was centrally located to the places we had pre-selected. We were very happy with our choice, both of area, as well as accomodations. Hamanassett is a wonderful, historical property, beautiful and very well run by Ashley and Glenn, who are most gracious hosts. Their staff, likewise, is very personable and professional. Prepare yourself for wonderful breakfasts. While we were there, Glenn and Ashley would alternate days to prepare breakfast, and I think that they must have laid awake nights thinking how each could outdo the other in food choice, preparation, and presentation. Although they were not intrusive, they were very knowledgeable about the area, and were prepared to discuss and make suggestions the various sites not to be missed, as well as suggestions as to alternative routes. They are excellent innkeepers. We, very highly, recommend this property.

Perfect weekend getaway to the Brandywine area. This B & B is probably the best we've ever stayed in. Every detail is lovingly attended to. Quiet, historic home with beautiful antiques, foxhunting theme, beautiful grounds, gracious hosts. Private baths with every room, excellent breakfast. Stayed here as part of a visit to Longwood Gardens. Highly recommend!!

My wife and I stayed with another couple for three nights at Hamanassett and we had a wonderful time. We had gone to the area for a Longwood Garden event (Wine & Jazz Festival) and went two days early because we love the surrounding area. Ashley and Glenn are excellent hosts -- personable and friendly, and they are very knowledgeable about the local area activities and restaurants. I was late getting dinner reservations for Thursday and Friday evenings, since many people were coming to the area for the Wine & Jazz Festival, but called Ashley the day before our arrival for help -- she spent time helping us decide on restaurants, and then made the calls for us so we had no problem getting reservations. When the Wine & Jazz Festival was cancelled for weather, Ashley again spent time with us to suggest activities and restaurants.
The Inn is beautiful, with many period pieces of furniture and antiques throughout. Each morning's breakfast was a gourmet event! Delicious, freshly prepared drinks and food, with excellent service. When we decided on Saturday to go lighter for dinner we shopped at a local market for wine, cheeses, meats, olives and a decadent dessert, and Ashley suggested we use their enclosed porch, which was perfect.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will certainly be returning in the future!

It was lovely having you and your friends stay with us. So glad you enjoyed your visit even though the Jazz Fest was canceled because of the weather. Hope you'll come again. Christmas in the Brandywine Valley is a magical time so think about coming then. Happy journeys to you all.

We recently spent two nights at this lovely, cozy B&B. We chose to stay in one of the cottages because we had our dog with us and it had a fenced in yard. It was spacious and furnished very nicely.
Upon arrival, there was a plate of homemade chocolate chip cookies in the kitchen and a very well stocked refrigerator with varying juices, pops
and water. There was also a basket of chips and crackers.
Of course they didn’t forget our fur baby either...she had a big dog biscuit and even a towel for wiping her paws!
Our cottage was beside the horse meadow and the horses were so friendly that we could hand feed them the treats that the Inn provided!
Ashley and Glen couldn’t have been more hospitable and tended to any needs we had. The best though was the absolutely delicious breakfasts that Ashley provided!!
We definitely recommend staying here!
