I was searching the internet, looking for a more reasonably priced alternative to the luxury spa destinations within driving distance of New York City. This caught my interest, and I stayed for three nights last October. I was very pleased and am looking to return again this year. A nice, cozy, "country inn" atmosphere, very low key and friendly. All of the meals are chef prepared, and they do not disappoint -- you do not walk away hungry, but rather pleased and satisfied. Did two of the beautiful hiking outings -- the guides know the area well. They had a guest lecturer who is a nutritionist. Had a lovely massage (which is included in the price of the three-night stay) by a massage therapist who went above and beyond. Nice, clean room. Met nice people during my stay and even made a new friend who lives not far from me in Queens! You can make the trip what you want -- active, restful, or somewhere in between. 1/2 the price of the luxury spas, within a good driving distance from NY -- a good value. Good for solo travel, girlfriends' getaway, sisters, couples. Looking forward to going back
