Wildwood sits between a busy highway and an industrial area, but when you are there it all seems far away. Well maintained walking trails offer an escape and some easy excercise. The full circle is almost three miles but there are shorter trails. Wildwood center has a small museum that is quite kid friendly. There is a bird observation area... a beautiful place to spend a wintry day. Wildwood also hosts events all year. Parking is ample and free. Restrooms and picnic areas are easy to access. Take your bored kids here for a free afternoon of family fun... or walk the path with your favorite pup. You'll be back once you do.

Wildwood Park is our go-to place for a Sunday stroll. Walk through the woods, through the wetlands (on a dry wooden path), and see numerous species of birds. The park has some built-in telescopes, but bring your own binoculars for the best experience. Bug spray advised, but they aren't all that bad.

Wildwood Park really is a hidden gem of a find in Harrisburg, PA with so many gorgeous waterfront trails where lots of Snowy White Egrets and Blue Herons can be spotted as well as turtles basking in the sun on logs, bunnies in the grassy fields and a ground hog or two near the bird feeders behind the Nature Center! There's lots of easy flat trails to enjoy along the water's edge for those who might want to get out in nature but not be challenged to severely. Perfect park for all ages to enjoy! For those who want a good hilly workout, Wildwood offers the 2.1 mile Wildwood Way Trail that is mostly paved but has very steep hills through nicely wooded terrain! My Hubby and I enjoy this park in every season with the ever changing scenery and beauty! There's plenty of picnic tables and pavilions for comfy picnicking! Be sure to stop by the very well done Nature Center with lots of gift items and nature displays; perfect for homeschoolers!

Great views of the flowers in full bloom! All kind of birds and other wildlife to see! Fairly easy walk about 3.5 miles total. Gets a little hilly around the gift shop.

Several nice walks along the marshland. Sounds of highway make it less than tranquil. Often quite a few people out and about walking. Lots of birds.
