My wife and I have traveling the East Coast for the last 3 weeks staying in Choice Hotels at every overnght stop.
This was our last stop before returning home. We arrive at the hotel tired and hungry so we check in and out for a quick meal.
We come back and my wife discovers that the toilet in our room isn't working properly.
Initial contacts with the front desk failed to resolve the issue. First, there is no one available to fix it. Second the only other available King Suite hasan't been cleaned (what hotel doesn't make sure that every possible room is available for rent?). After insisting that the front desk contact the manager (why isn't one onsite 24-7?), the room got cleaned and we moved our stuff (with no help from the hotel).
The next day starts, breakfast wasn't bad and we headed for the day. As we were leaving, I purposely stopped at the front desk, to make sure that out room would be made up. I was informed that our room was on the list. Imagine my surprise and shock to return at at 5:00pm to discover our room hadn't been touched. I contacted the front desk again and asked to have it taken care of right away. My wife and I waited about 20 miunutes, but housekeeping never arrived. So I went down to the front desk and the front desk told they were on the 3rd floor but she had no control over them. I again asked for the manager and was told she wasn't in today (again why isn't there a manager on duty 24-7?). I asked here to call her, which she finally did. Apparently the manager then contacted the housekeeping staff and resolved the issue and some one finally appeared to clean the room. I was informed that she my reduced my rate $30.00 which I did not ask for. I simply wanted the problem resolved quickly with a minimal amount of issues.
These types of issues negate any other good things and make this hotel too much of hassle to stay at again.
