We came for 2 nights, to share the Hershey experience with our grandson. The room was clean, pretty basic, and compact. We were on the 4th floor, with a view of some of the coasters in Hershey. The walls are paper thin, and as there were many families with young children, it was a bit noisy. I was disappointed in the "complimentary" breakfast, and I know it's because of Covid. It was a bagged breakfast with granola bars and water. Lavazza coffee was available in the lobby (my fave). But, we actually had to go out for a quick breakfast. It did not satisfy any of us .But basically, a good family hotel. There is a pool, and again, you have to sign up for an hour, due to Covid. The bed linens were mediocre.

Dear Celia B,

Thank you so much for taking the time to give us your feedback. The Tru by Hilton brand is a new brand within the Hilton portfolio, and your feedback goes a long way in ensuring we can enhance the experience of all of our guests at the hotel. The Tru by Hilton brand offers a more modernized style of accommodations - eliminating closet space, but offering alternatives for storage throughout the room. Everything is compact and basic which is exactly what Hilton wanted with this brand! And I agree- One of my favorite things for our specific hotel is being able to see the roller coasters from our rooms, the amazing Lavazza coffee and the family fun environment :) During these troubling times we hope you understand that our guidelines have changed a bit but we are doing everything we can to make sure our guests and staff stay healthy and they have an enjoyable time with us.
Please contact the hotel and ask to speak with the General Manager so that we can discuss your experience and see if there is anything we can do to earn your trust for a future stay when visiting Hershey.

Would definitely recommend this hotel when you’re visiting Hershey. Everything was new and kept very clean. Liked the laminate flooring, felt much cleaner than carpeted hotels. Beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed the large smart TV in the room. We were initially worried about the noise after reading other reviews, but we didn’t have any issues at all. There were many families staying with smaller children and we never heard a sound from outside our room-very quiet on the 5th floor. We really enjoyed the keyless entry on the app and online check in/check out-super convenient. Also liked that access to the building was limited to hotel guests only with keys. Only issue I could see is that there is limited storage space, which could be a problem for families, but with only 2 of us it worked just fine.

We had a wonderful trip to Hershey this year. This hotel is very clean and modern. Reminded my wife and I of a upscale/modern college dorm room. Beds are very comfortable and we slept well. It was very COVID conscious with touchless keyless entry to rooms, and restricted access to the building for guest only. Front Desk attendants were friendly and courteous to all guest. Grab & Go breakfast was included. Front Desk attendant prepared the bags for you based on your request. They wore proper gloves and masks as they handled the items.

It was also about 7 minutes from Hersheypark. We had a great trip and would return if the price is right.

Quick note, you are able to see the top of the rollercoasters at Hersheypark from this hotel. You should request a room on a high floor (4th/5th Floor) on an odd number room between 1 and 13.

Dear 603alext,

Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know how we did! The Tru by Hilton brand is one of the newest in the Hilton Portfolio and offers a more modernized style of accommodations - eliminating closet space and drawers, but offering alternatives for storage throughout the room, replacing bottles of shampoo/soaps with bulk dispensers, etc. Its minimal and clever design allows you a unique space to relax, work, play and chew. Also thank you for giving future guests an amazing picture of what to expect here at the Tru and what we are doing to keep you all safe during COVID.

We are so glad you enjoyed the brand and your stay with us! We hope to see you again soon.

Overall, I think this is a great hotel. Great family atmosphere and updated-but the best thing this hotel has going for it is Jeremy at the front desk. This young man knows hospitality and demonstrates EXCELLENT customer service skills. He is an asset to this business and should be commended for representing this hotel so professionally. Every hotel needs a Jeremy!
I like that there is no carpet in the rooms. But I have to say that my room could have been cleaner. There is a cheerio under the bathroom vanity. (room 208) It's probably still there. There were a few other issues, but I let them go because there were so many good things about this place.
The only other issue, which isn't the fault of the hotel, is that evidently Big Foot had taken the room over top of mine. He stomped so loudly very late at night and early in the morning. Kept me up. Light sleepers might need to get the 5th floor.

Room tip: Light sleepers get the 5th floor!

Stayed here for one night and it was a good stay. This was our first time at a Tru brand hotel and the room is pretty basic, but if you're just seeking a clean, comfortable, utilitarian place to spend the night then this hotel provides that. Actually, it goes a step above utilitarian. The lobby is stylish. Everything was new and clean. We ended up with an accessible room and both the room and bathroom were spacious. The room has brightly colored accents and curtains ("Very nice!" said my toddler). I didn't love the bedding (it wasn't as plush as I've had in some other comparable hotels) but I did appreciate that the hotel uses the type of comforter that appears to get washed with the sheets rather than the decorative comforters you see at some older hotels. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the TV, internet and A/C all worked well. The room also has good blackout curtains and was very quiet. Oh, and the room had wood floors (or faux wood, maybe) rather than carpeting, which I really appreciate from a cleanliness standpoint. My only real complaint is that the room didn't have a closet, just a little cubby with hangers, but that's not a big deal for a short stay. It's also located right beside a residential neighborhood so the view into people's backyards and the lack of walkable restaurants/entertainment is a little weird.
As far as Covid-19 pandemic precautions, the hotel is doing a good job. Every staff person we saw was masked and although we didn't see many guests the ones we did see were wearing masks as well. The hotel has "mask required" signs on the front doors and in the lobby. They have hand sanitizer stations set up in front of each elevator so you can easily sanitize your hands before and after riding the elevator. For the complimentary breakfast they have made the wise decision to hand out a bagged breakfast. You then have the option to dine downstairs if you want to, although most people seemed to be taking their food back to their rooms to eat (which is what we did). I liked this much better than the situation at other hotels we have stayed at recently where they are still doing breakfast in a communal dining room. We have needed to stay at several hotels since the pandemic began and overall Tru has done the best job so far.
