Me Lyng needs to clean up the place a bit. The carpeting is old and worn and dirty, and the place looks overly tired. One thing, possibly unique to Pittsburgh, is the measure of egg rolls compared to the old Tea Garden Restaurant. Like Sun Penang in Squirrel Hill, Me Lyng has made a very close replica of the Special Egg Roll from the Tea Garden. It might have fewer shrimp, but the rest if all pork, no cabbage or other fillers. For those of us who grew up on the Tea Garden, this is one of the two places to go for egg rolls! We had two dishes for four people, after the appetizers, and the Mongolian beef and the Shrimp in Lobster Sauce were both good, but they were not very large. This place would rate better if they did a major overhaul of the dining room.
