Owner description: Giuseppina and her sons, run with passion a cooking school in Certaldo, between Florence and Siena, A beautiful medieval village. With more than ten years of experience in teaching, Giuseppina loves to lead students in the secrets of traditional Tuscan cuisine. And her family, which shares the same passion for the joys of life and food, offers to participate in activities such as truffle hunting and wine tasting.

This was a great day! Simone met us at the train station & took us to the countryside to hunt truffles with his dad Luigi & his sweet super dog Mora. This was very cool to see the dog in action & the scenery was beautiful. Then we took our truffles to his mom Giuseppina in the beautiful old town where they made us a delicious lunch. Giuseppina is very friendly & answered all of our questions. The meal was delicious - especially the pan a cotta! We bought her cookbook and will try to recreate them at home but I’m sure they won’t be as good.

My wife and I attended Giuseppina’s cooking class for our 10th anniversary and we were not disappointed. We were the only two people in the class and it was great. We made strawberry panna cotta, bruschetta, pork tenderloin and fresh pici pasta with artichoke. It was soooooo good and the atmosphere/location was fantastic. Giuseppina and Sarah (her niece) made us feel like part of the family. We plan on going back with the kids next year. Highly recommended, but remember Giuseppina’s motto: “if you don’t cook, you don’t eat!”

We try to do a cooking class on every international trip, and we would definitely recommend this class. We took the market tour and cooking class, and we liked the ability for the group to decide what we were cooking and then get the ingredients in the market. Giuseppina and her son were great hosts and the food and wine were both delicious. There was only one other couple in the class besides us. The class was fairly hands-on, but with plenty of guidance, which we enjoyed. The class was one of the highlights on our trip.

Cooking with Giuseppina and Luca was the highlight of our Italy trip. They warmly welcomed our group of 5 into their kitchen. We learned to make delicious food the Italian way. Giuseppina has a rule, ”Here you can eat only if you cook”. We all had a hand in preparing the zucchini blossoms, sage leaves, Pork Loin, pasta from scratch, and salami dolce. Giuseppina imparted all the methods and helpful hints in preparing the dishes. Everything turned out delicious. Lucas’ wine was perfect with the food.

If you are in Tuscany you must not miss this experience. The food, wine and this family are wonderful. It was a great way to learn how to cook Tuscany food in this beautiful atmosphere. Thank you both for a wonderful and fun filled lesson on Tuscany cooking.

My day with Giuseppina and Luca, with their warm and generous hospitality, was undoubtedly a highlight of my 5 weeks in Italy. An informative visit to the local market to gather fresh ingredients followed by the cooking class in their lovely kitchen where we were able to participate fully. Then sitting down to the wonderful feast we'd created accompanied by plenty of Luca's excellent wine. The venue in the lovely medieval hilltop part of the town of Certaldo is just beautiful. The day was filled with fun and laughter and I left very happy and longing to return again one day. Grazie mille!
