We visited Meadow View, 63 Valley Lodge in Sept 2017. What an absolutely beautiful lodge this was, with outstanding views and in such a pretty, tranquil location. The lodge is stunning, sleeps 8 very comfortably, and has the most gorgeous view from the balcony upstairs.

There are 4 double bedrooms on the ground floor, with 2 bathrooms and toilets, and upstairs there is a large lounge with a balcony, and a lovely large spacious kitchen. The lodge has pretty solar lights on both the upstairs balcony and the downstairs decking area, and it was just delightful to be sipping a glass of wine, listening to the birds and the little babbling stream which runs through the site. The solar lights add to the atmosphere, and I spent so many evenings just sitting there feeling relaxed and totally chilled.

The site has an indoor pool which was lovely and warm, the outdoor pool wasn't open when we were there in late Sept, but looks lovely. There is a bar and restaurant, the food was reasonably priced and delicious, and the staff were most helpful and eager to please. There is a lovely little park for children, and a gym and tennis court.

The site is ideally situated for exploring both Devon and Cornwall, and is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. There is so much to do and see, including a donkey park next door, Cotehele, a beautiful country house is just a few minutes away, where you can find kayaking on the quayside.
This truly is a lovely, hidden gem of a cottage, and I will be returning again and again.

Room Tip: Meadow View Lodge has the most spectacular views from the balcony upstairs!

We have just spent a week at 59 valley lodge. The lodge is lovely, very self contained with everything you need , we had trouble with the tv not working but the owner came strait away and sorted the problem. such a chilled lodge with 3 settees ( great when there's 5 adults!!!) and the hot tub a bonus. The decking areas could do with a jet wash as it's very slippery and one of our party slipped and cut his toe open. Also there is no coat hooks near the hot tub to hang towels or robes which would benefit so people don't walk soaking wet into the lodge.
The location is great for exploring Devon and Cornwall if your happy to travel as nothing is walking distance or close by.
Not much on site for kids and no Wi-Fi and also not suitable for anyone with a physical disability as the lodge had a lot of steps to get to it. Overall a very comfortable lodge for having a relaxing break with the added bonus of a hot tub .

Thank you for taking the time to review - So pleased that the issue with the TV was resolved for you quickly and that you liked the lodge, it is extremely popular. The location allows a certain amount of privacy for guests while using the hot tub etc. The site itself offers 2 play parks, a pool, gym, a tennis court, football area, full games room and an entertainment programme through school holidays, we have a number of partners offering outward bound activities, canoeing days out, Archery for all ages etc. Pleased to say that Wifi is coming on site, as mentioned previously within a review - a number of lodges hope to have wifi installed soon - This lodge is one of the lodges taking up the new scheme.
We do hope that you will come back and see us again.

We stayed at 15Dartmoor Lodge which I understand is not managed by Honicombe Manor. Amongst many things the Lodge was damp, only 1 towel per person was supplied and there was nowhere to dry anything. The fridge/feeezer was inadequate for 8 people. The photos advertising this lodge show 2towels per person and a fridge/freezer in the dining area(this was not there). The floorboards were so noisy they woke people up, the pipes made horrendous noises, the shower in the upstairs bathroom had a notice saying it could only be used to clean the bath, and the downstairs shower room was minute with nowhere to put a toilet bag let alone toiletries for 8 people. There were no passes for the pool which was advertised as included. This was hired through Sykes Cottages and their customer service is appalling. Despite writing to them and emailing no response has been received.

Hello - thank you for your comments. I am sorry that you didn't find everything to your liking, this lodge generally very popular with guests. With regard to towels, the housekeepers for this lodge are on site daily and I am sure they would have provided extra towels if requested (I believe their tel no was provided with directions from Sykes). As we are not managers for this lodge we cannot comment on behalf of Sykes I am afraid. We do hope that you enjoyed the other aspects of your stay here at Honicombe Manor.

We stayed in Tamar 6, which is a lovely holiday home. Clean, comfortable and modern with absolutely beautiful views from the balcony and very large windows.
The site is being improved by the current owners which I believe are owners of some of the holiday homes. The swimming people is great for all the family but the changing areas and showers need upgrading.
The pub/restaurant is great, the food plentiful, reasonably priced and good and the staff are very pleasant.
You need a car to get about. Being on the border of Devon and Cornwall there are lots of places and things to do. Cotehele National Trust property is only a few miles away and is well worth a visit, as is a ride on the train from Gunnislake to Plymouth, a very picturesque journey over the viaduct. Healey cider farm is about forty miles away and again is a great day out for all the family.
There is no wifi in the properties but mobile signal is good.
Overall a great place to stay.
