Not greeted on arrival!
Staff were not hospitable with helping us when asked what to do in the area.
Noisy kids!
No fire alarm in the room.
When informed staff they could not care less.
The restaurant staff were rude and were more keen on you leaving than accomodating you.
Limited cutlery and crockery
No robes
More like a 1 star hotel.

We checked in to this cesspit on Wed and checked out a few hours later. The whole complex is falling apart. When we arrived to our room the floor tiles were so sticky that our shoes basically stuck to them. The pools were disgusting - one was useable but the main spa area was gross & needed cleaning .. the other pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned since winter. The outdoor furniture - the gardens, the main walkways were gross. What was the last straw was lifting the kettle to have cockroaches run out from under it. (On the way out we say a huge can of Raid - they even know they have cockroaches!) My family & i still feel sick at the thought of it. We got a full refund but it was the worst hotel experience we've ever had!!! Reading other reviews, I am gobsmacked that anyone has positive things to say. Awful!!! We have tried to make a complaint via the Accor Hotels main website but according to them there is no Mecure in Gerringong... what a joke.

Has anyone else stayed in room 309? My wife and I booked in for one night and were allocated this room. We noticed a small burn in the nylon curtain. We didnt report it as reception had closed and thought nothing of it. Unfortunately. 3 days after our stay we were billed $250 on our credit card for the burn. After several attempts to reach the manager to explain the burn was already there and that I dont smoke (no matches or lighter, candles or incense etc) he refused to reverse the transaction. Looking at other comments, other guests have experienced the similar injustices. We have booked our day in court.

We purchased a 2 night stay on Groupon for $259. We were in a king room with balcony. Room was lovely bed was super comfy so no complaints about the facilities. It's located close to shops and restaurants but considering the spectacular views across Gerringong it's not in a great location. Didn't interact much with staff as we arrived at 8,15pm and reception was already closed. The cards for our room didn't work well when we arrived then the next day didn't work at all , we were told to keep them away from our phones which makes sense but they were not good to start with. I would recommend for comfort alone...plus we got a good deal $$

Staff, as with all the Mercure properties, were excellent.

Restaurant, both of an evening and for breakfast excellent quality food and service.

Bit disappointed that there were no complimentary little pack of biscuits in my room.

And, I forgot to ask for walk in shower, so had to struggle getting in and out of the bath to shower (getting too stiff for these acrobatics).
Internet was free.

Room comfortable, bed great, plenty of pillows, clean, excellent individual reverse cycle airconditioning.

Look forward to staying there again when I am travelling south.
