Description: Over the weekend my husband and I visited this fantastic German restaurant in the Poconos. It's part antique shop, part BBQ shack, but also has a sit-down restaurant inside with a wider variety of foods, mostly focusing on traditional German cuisine. Everything is homemade and the German hostess/owner (who also cooked some of the food) was very accommodating.

Went here for my birthday with family. The owners were so friendly and accommodating. The food was very good, and fresh as they make it all from scratch. The antiques were kind of quirky but that's part of the charm. It's a place to let your hair down and be entertained by the owners. You can't help but have them join in to your conversations; it's like dining a a good friend's house: enjoying the food, conversation, and of course...beer! Wunderbar! Go and enjoy!

It's a unique experience. Owners were wonderful. Food was excellent. Since everything is prepared fresh, need to allow time for this meal. Loved it and would come back again

I tried Der Jaeger this past Thursday night, food cooked to order, in small antique shop!
But Really good food! Loved it so much, we went back on Sunday with Friends.
Our group had Sauerbraten, outstanding, Beef Stroganoff, Pork Loin with potatoes.
The restaurant is small, and everything is home cooked, make reservations! Many specials each night as well. We will be back! BYOB and relax and explore the antque shop as your dinner is cooked! large portions too!

My husband and I recently dined at Der Jaeger on our way to FL. It was one of the finest meals we have ever had, and the whole experience was delightful. It's as if we were dining in a private home. Janusz chatted with us as Sylvana prepared food in the open kitchen. We had veal schnitzel, brats, beef stroganoff, dumplings, spaetzel, beets, red cabbage, creamed onion soup, and sausage soup, creamed spinach. It's one of the meals you must experience before you die. There is also a collection of fine antiques and art for sale. Our meal was so reasonably priced as well as the art we purchased. We can't wait to return in the spring. Der Jaeger is a must, must experience.

This is my second trip to the restaurant. The owners are wonderful people and they take time to sit and talk. The antiques shop is certainly unexpected in visiting the restaurant, but the tour of the place on your own passes some time while the owner prepares your delicious meal. The evening we went, I was longing for her potato pancakes, but she didn't have time to make them. When I suggested "the customer is always right", she said "not in this place". Will always make a plan to go there when we are in town. The sauerbraten is delicious, marinated for one week. You must try all of the side dishes. Bring your own favorite bottle of wine and expect to have a nice leisurely dinner with great conversation.
