Wishing for a brownie sundae I went to Brusters for the first time. It was good. I got it to go and once I dug in it was pretty good. Not the best of the best but good!

Bruster's has a great range of flavors and very friendly staff. The ice cream is good but IMHO it contains way too much air versus really good ice creams. It's to the point that it makes the ice cream "sticky" and the servers can barely get it off of their scoops. This is in contrast to creamy ice cream with lower air content kept at a slightly lower temperature, which has a higher overall milk fat content, easily comes off the scoop, and conveys much more flavor. Again, the ice cream is good and maybe we'll be back, but we've had much better, including several premium store-bought ice cream brands. We like the Bruster's set-up with nice outdoor seating and, as mentioned, the people who work here are great, friendly and helpful.

While the ice cream is good (not great) the service is unusually slow and inefficient. It seems as if they could use some improvement in how they handle orders, lines etc. In addition the outdoor seating area is almost always a mess, tables and chairs covered with the ice cream mess of other customers who should have cleaned up their own mess and now the staff doesn't clean either. Napkins are apparently a treasure here as well as they barely give you any! Make sure you have all the napkins, straws and spoons you need before you leave the line as it's impossible to get any afterwards.

Went here for dessert last night. It was my first time, although some family members had been here before. Depending on your opinion, it could be pricey. A single dip waffle cone was about $4.49--but a double dip was only about $4.99. They do make their own waffle cones, so they are fresh and good. There were LOTS of flavors of ice cream--from the regulars to things like Southern Banana Pudding! Because I am watching my weight, I got a no-fat, no-cholesterol vanilla caramel 'baby' cup--it was just the right amount and it looked like I got a caramel topped sundae as there was so much gooey good caramel! It is fun that they give little kids free ice cream (they have a wall chart to measure the kids)! Everyone loved their ice cream: rich and creamy! And we loved the variety of flavors. No soft ice cream, though; only hard. But they make shakes, sundaes and ice cream cakes, too. We enjoyed eating it there is the patio area of tables, chairs and umbrellas. Will go again!!

Almost every night after softball you'll find us at Bruster's. They have great ice cream with great flavors. They have a cute little sitting area with tables and chairs to relax under the shaded umbrellas during the day, or hang out under the lights at night. They do run specials on specific days so make sure you check them out. We have ordered cakes from them in a pinch but they are expensive so we mostly just stick to the ice cream. Bruster's also has a drive-thru!!
