He was probably already putting on the breaks as I spied the Black Bass.

The snug (bar) as open!!

At that time the larger inn is was closed due yet they invited us up to see the rooms that were about to be offered. 'Finish your drinks and have a look around '. This is how welcoming they were and still are.

We did have a look around and picked our favorite and booked the following year and again.

Had dinner there last night and can only say, Thank You to everyone at Black Bass and Terry.

Not going to describe the perfect lobster corn risotto or the sword fish or hanger steak or the staff.

Nope!

Don't miss out.

One of a kind and you should enjoy for yourself.

This is a charming restaurant, both inside and outside on the patio with its gorgeous view of the Delaware River. The menu is large and varied. We started with grilled shrimp, quite large and prepared in an interesting lime sauce. Filet mignon, with fresh vegetables and mashed potatoes, was outstanding. The pork chop was delicious, probably a little too large! Prices are high, but comparable to area upscale restaurants. Service was excellent and parking is in their lot across the road.

What a great place to have a relaxing lunch or dinner. Situated near a footbridge that connects Bulls Island State Park NJ with the Lumberton area of PA, this historic site serves some great meals. Their signature dish is a creamy crab bake which is fantastic. Seating both indoors and out makes this a year-round special place on the Delaware River to dine.

Most people (adults) are saying they have not seen ghosts, the reason why they haven't seen any is because if you watched the documentary on their restaurant, they said only children can see 1 old man ghost. I am a child and I am probably going to be going to the restaurant a little while after Halloween to see if children can actually see ghosts there or not.

The Black Bass Hotel Restaurant is definitely quaint, rustic, and offers beautiful vista along the Delaware River. However, our meal and service were fair. We expected so much more given the ambiance and price point. Two diners had the berry crepe with mascarpone cheese. It was very sweet. I chose the Bass Liver Pate and Smoked Salmon Mousse, which was very dry. The second course parfait had absolutely no flavor. The main course entree of eggs benedict was ordered and the eggs were literally HARD BOILED! with very little hollandaise, which by the way the waitress rave about. Diner returned the plate and was brought a perfectly prepared eggs benedict. I had the seafood Newburg which was prepared more like ranchero sauce than cognac cream, which was noted on the menu. The third diner had the Steak and Eggs which was swimming in demi-glace. The filet was prepared as ordered. Our waitress was preoccupied with constantly filling our glasses with champagne. She never apologized for the ill prepared eggs benedict. She was MIA most of the time and we had to wait forever for her to pick up our check. I probably will not return.
