Add Salerno's to your bucket list. Shrimp an pepper pizza is awesome but you can't leave without at least a half a tray of white! Not Dominos!!!!

Let's just say that when we have out of town guests that want to experience the Pizza Capital of the World- we ALWAYS take them to Salerno's. It is the best pizza around!!!!!!!

As a few of the places in town, this one is a bit like stepping back in time. It's an old style bar/restaurant...not a lot of atmosphere, but pretty good family style food, especially the pizza (IF you like Old Forge style that is...it's not for everyone).

As many of the old places in this town, Salerno's has its followers who say the pizza is 'the best in town' (Old Forge is famous for its pizza)...or even further (it was cited in the past by some publications as 'top this or that'..but locals often say it used to be better). It's pretty good of the genre, and you might like it. The only way you'll know is to try it. They also serve other home made style Italian dishes that are pretty good.

Parking on the street nearby is usually easy. You can sit at the bar in front and drink Lager drafts with the locals who can be friendly and/or classless and coarse. It may be safer to sit in the rear dining room, not fancy but comfortable enough. On weekends it can get crowded and busy but not offensive.

Try a tray of red or white or maybe get a half of each. Old Forge style pizza is different...don't be surprised and don't judge it against your local favorite until you've had a few. If you want something like NY style, don't go to Old Forge...try something in Scranton or other town nearby.
