Very original, with more than a century of history. You see much of the city on the other side of the river.

Great View! Not quite as great as the Duquesne but still beautiful! Has more casual dinining/bars close by vs the more expensive nicer restaurants at the Duquesne.

4 stars for incline. 3 stars for ticket machine. 1 star for grumpy, condescending ticket taker. Can use credit card or cash for $3.50 US roundtrip fare. But machine didn't dispense a ticket for my friend and she declined a receipt before she knew she wouldn't get a ticket. Problem is that the ticket checker is at the top. She explained her situation and he was rude that she should have known better to take the receipt. I tried to vouch for her and he told me to be quiet. He was also unsympathetic that the rest of us didn't know how to clear our ticket as we exited. Amazingly rude maybe because we are women? Didn't spoil the funicular experience but golly what a jerk. So, take the receipt when the machine prompts!

We took the incline from Station Square to Mt. Washington for night photos of downtown Pittsburgh. The view was wonderful. It was cold and windy, but worth it. We were able to go inside the incline building to get warm and resume picture taking. We were glad to be able to use a credit card to purchase tickets.
