We visited this sub and totally enjoyed it! My wife and I very much enjoyed the fact that it’s a self guided tour which means we could go as slow as we wanted! We were surprised at how spacious it was! Especially compared to a German U-boat we had toured earlier! By no means tons of extra space but definitely more spacious than we had expect! We just really enjoyed everything about the tour! We decided to take the tour on the spur of the moment! We are really glad we did! :) also as a side note... we visited just the sub and didn’t visit the science center. You can either pay for the sub tour right after you get into it or then I believe it is included with your science center admission. The tour is time well spent!

This is a way cool self tour of an actual WW II era sub. its amazing to tour and see the quarters. There is staff there for any questions .its a great experience. I've done it several times. Be warned that there are stairs and it is generally in very tight quarters. Its best to be fairly mobile.

If you've never been in a small submarine, this exhibit is worth a visit. The way the interior is crammed so as to be functional is fantastic. Just looking at the multitude of levers, dials, knobs, etc. is overwhelming. Pity the poor sailor who had to know what they all did.

We were met by very knowledgeable former Navy men who explained every detail of life aboard a sub in WWII. They answered all of our questions and didn't rush us through. Funny, but watched the movie U-571 not long after tour and understood alot more about the subs! Cool!

My wife and myself did the behind the scenes your. It was from 9am till Noon. The tour itself was great. We got the tour from two gentlemen that served on the sub. They let you climb into the conning tower and places that public can not. Very unforgettable, hands on 100% would recommend doing it. It's only once a mth I believe.
