What? A Mexican restaurant in a traditional German town? Yes. And it's really good.
We stopped here for lunch prior to taking a tour at Straub Brewery. You could easily walk from one to the other, they are about 1/4 mile apart. Salsa's is located right on Brusselles street, and do not have a parking area of their own, but we had no trouble finding parking nearby.
The restaurant was clean and decorated in a typical style you see in most Mexican-American restaurants. Wait staff was friendly and accommodating. But the thing for us which takes this eatery to five stars was the food. The quality, presentation and quantity were above average for a Mexican restaurant. The guacamole is made fresh daily and the salsa also tasted homemade. All three of us had great meals and left highly satisfied. Even the restrooms were clean.
We saw another family with pre-teen kids and they also were well taken care of and the waitress spent extra time with them. If you have kids, this would be a great place to bring them.
The final highlight was that we all ate for under $25.
If you're in St Marys and looking for a great meal, you won't go wrong stopping at Salsa's.
