Booked this in August for a grad ceremony in May--it was all that was available. The room, basement floor, had wet carpet and it was raining--the water came through the cracked foundation. The room smelled. It was the kind of place you did not want to walk with bare feet. The beds were okay, or at least I convinced myself they were. It was over $200 for one night. Not a good experience.

Requested two 1st floor rooms over 2 months before our stay, but was told when we arrived that they only had 2nd floor rooms available. The hotel has a strange layout with some outside doors on the 1st & 2nd floor and some room doors like out on the 2nd floor that you had to climb the outside steps with a shaky hand rail - then use your room key to enter an inside corridor that had 2 steps down that where very steep and we almost fell. Our room did not have a knob to lock the dead bolt and we end up use a chair along with the door chain for security. There is a Domino's Pizza next door and when we walked over there - we seen that there was a 1st floor guest cooking on a table top grill on top of a plastic garbage can under the wobbly wooden steps! When we checked out the owners - who live next to the lobby had their door open and were having a major fight. Though the price was cheaper than most Newport hotels it certainly did not come to the Rodeway Inn standard and I would not recommend stay here.

Room Tip: If you are desperate enough to stay here make sure you have 1st floor guaranteed room.

Rodeway Inn shuttle service is extraordinary. 24 hour shuttle service to wherever you want to go ad be picked up. Mike davis was an excellent driver and showed me around the area and where good restaurants were. waking up to catch an early flight was no problem without an uber or taxi.

We booked this at the last minute while we were passing through the area. We had a nice stay at the Rodeway Inn. We tend to seek out Rodeway Inns because of their price. Our room was clean and comfortable. The people at the desk were friendly and helpful. It was our first time in New England and they had lots of maps and good suggestions for places to visit. Their breakfast was the expected make-your-own waffles, fruit, cereal and bagels.

Arrived at 1pm but room wasn't ready until 3pm. Bed was hard. Breakfast room was not lit at 7am when we wanted breakfast. No one at the desk. Only way to get in to 2nd floor was outside steps and steps are bad. Almost hurt myself falling into entrance unexpectedly. Loved the area. But this hotel tried to ruin my stay. My wife says hairblower was "from the 1950's" Do not recommend at all.
