We heard about this from friends who have made a lunch visit here a yearly tradition. The ordering is done at the window. Best to find a seat first. Decor is old style fish shack. Quantity is large, taste is great but I would have liked a few more bits of clam in the chowder and clam cakes. Can't be the price and service was fast and friendly. There is a raw bar upstairs. Didn't try it but it looked good.
I would definitely go next time.

Fun and casual, order and pick-up at the counter, seating is upstairs and down, nautical atmosphere. Great burgers for the non-seafood guests. Cold beer by the pitcher is a good value. The limited onsite parking is accessible from the street behind the restaurant.

Ok, first, it's a clam shack, ok? Not fine dining. Prices have gone up over the years and are approaching overpriced, but the quality is still there. As a clam shack Flo's is tops. Their clam strips (get whole bellies if you really love clams) and clear RI chowda are the best around. Tried the calamari this past visit and it was also really good. Location near Easton's Beach is great and they do serve beer. Some outdoor tables at which dogs are allowed to join in (but they are uncovered and very sunny). I have never had anything other than clams, clam strips and chowda so I can't speak to the other menu items. But as a clam shack, nothing beats it!

We went to Flo's five times! The bartender called my husband by name from the second visit on. The food was fresh and delicious - worth the wait . The baked scallops were big and juicy! The upstairs decks were perfect for having drinks, enjoying the ocean view and talking. They had all you can eat nights that drew big crowds!

The food was OK, but nothing to write home about. The prices are comparable to The Mooring, which is a nice sit down restaurant with excellent service. The line was very long, I do not understand why. The parking is not adequate, quite a few cars could not find a spot, and went away. If you want a Shack experience, go to the Newport Lobster Shack on Long Wharf, much better and cheaper food.
