We stopped by the Wood River Inn nihilism traveling through Rhode Island. Our lunch was quite nice. My fish and chips was very well done, and served with both malt vinegar and tartar sauce. My wife's sandwich drew raves from her. Service was prompt and attentive. Bar looked very nice.

This was part of a "Bucket List" but has now turned into my favorite off the beaten path place. Rock solid pub food, good beer list, great atmosphere, terrific music, and just a great overall place to kick back on a weekend.

We go here regular, but not so much that everyone knows our names. Good meals, many unique beers on tap.
No pretension. Good off street parking.
Good stop for travelers on 138 between CT and Newport, RI. Stop, get a beer, and a snack, you are going to be paying way more in Newport. See some local color and listen to a band with aspirations.

Great place. Wonderful service. Food is good and not too expensive. Location is easy to get too in the main part of town.

Nice decor, has a family feel to it with above average service, but certainly good for a date, too. There is a dinning room and lounge. The dinning room has a nice feel to it, not stuffy at all. They do have live music on the weekends, including a Bluegrass band on Sundays.

Three of us had dinner, and all three meals were very good, good portions and reasonably priced. The one exception to this was a glass of wine that cost $9... that's high for a family restaurant.

We had onion rings as an appetizer, they were mediocre. I ordered a small salad with my meal, it was the only disappointment out of the meal... all lettuce with a couple small tomatoes and some onion.

If the salad had been better I would have gave this place a 5 rating, even with the over priced wine. Nice extensive menu with lots of options, something for every taste.
