Owner description: Joe Riley Stadium is home to the Charleston Riverdogs, concerts, camps, and other activities. It is one of the nicest minor league stadiums in America, and is situated on the banks of the Ashley River. It is extremely popular in Charleston, and Riverdog games are known across the country for their unique promotions, Friday night Fireworks, and one of their quirky co-owners (Bill Murray).

This is a great place to watch a baseball game. Great sight lines, plenty of seating, wonderful ballpark food. Only downside is the fact a New York Yankee farm team plays there. Go Red Sox.

We've gone to a couple of RiverDogs games at "The Joe," and have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were able to get seats just a few rows back from the field, between home and first base, for under $10. Food and drinks are reasonably priced, for a ballpark, and there are some interesting options.
The team is single A and is in the Yankees organization, so most of the players are young and eager. It's great fun to watch them play and to see the entertainment that goes on in the stands and on the field. Even our young granddaughters lasted through the whole game and stayed for the fireworks afterward.

Always a good time and Thirsty Thursday is FUN! Come for the baseball, stay for the beer! And the children love it... the baseball, not the beer.

Great minor league ballpark. New York Yankees affiliate. I was there for a Riverdogs game vs. the Columbia Fireflies. The field is in pristine condition. Sight lines are great. If you are there for a night game and you are seated down the 3rd base line you're gonna have to deal with the sun for a few innings. Bring your eye protection. Food options were solid. Drink options were good. Gift shop was very cool with all kinds of jerseys and hats available for purchase. I opted for the Holy City cap. Wow your friends with trivia too. For example, a Riverdog is actually what sailors called the giant rats they observed on the banks of the Ashley and Cooper rivers. Keep in mind that this is class "A" baseball with some kids just out of high school. You're not going to see gold glove play and 500 foot bombs. My only complaint is that the food being served was for minor league baseball at a major league price. They should lower the prices just a bit. In conclusion, you'll have a very good time if you come here for a game. Keep an eye out. Perhaps one or two of the 30 or so players will eventually make it to the show.
