This is a surprisingly food bakery right in a marina area. The food was good and came out as mini meals. Eating outside looking at the boats in the marina around sunrise was a nice treat. There is plenty of parking out front but if you are staying around that area and have a bike I think it is better. my family said they would go back.

Walking into Social Bakery is like being transported to a Parisian paradise, especially if greeted at the door by the chef himself. The aroma of many fresh baked pastries will fill you with delight as you enter. These pastries put American food to shame. Gone are the days of fast food bakeries, as we say bonjour to the classic flavors of France. Chef Philippe turns original French pastries into a new, delicious, and delightful morning treat. The pastries are made fresh all through the day. There is almost no better joy than walking into this quaint bakery. If there was a way to award them more than five stars, I would. Bon travail to Chef Philippe and his team!

Feels like a French pastry shop - everything is beautiful and delicious. I especially like the fruit tarts, but my friends all enjoyed the chocolate croissants.

The almond chocolate croissant and the plain chocolate croissant are both deliciously flakey and buttery. The coffee is good and the staff is very friendly. Dogs are welcome outside too!

We kept seeing this bakery as the #1 stop for breakfast on TripAdvisor. We decided to check it out for some yummy stuff. How disappointing. The croissant was good but not amazing. We got a few tarts - not good - maybe they were sitting there too long?? I don’t get the ratings. There’s zero place for a party to sit down. This is a get and go operation. Nothing special, nothing to go back for. Waste of $$.

BULLETS FOR REVIEW.....

1. We take customer criticism seriously and Chef Philippe would like to know your personal expertise with croissants and French pastries? We understand that what we do is NOT understood by everyone and every palette especially if you are giving a 5 star rating at diners for French toast sticks with strawberry butter, waffles, and processed foods. We are not sure what your ''Standards" are but we exceed the quality, uniqueness, and freshness for our products. Saturday (the day that you stopped in) we were extremely busy and had a tart turnover every 2 hours. We disagree with you about pastries sitting too long. And we have the best croissants in the state of SC and beyond with no doubt.

2. Overrated? You can view every legitimate customer and post by their history as we did yours. We are not 100% FANTASTIC by coincidence.

3. Your inside seating expectation is irrelevant to our design. We have a total of 50 seats available. We are not advertised as a restaurant. First one first serve basis.

4. Chef Philippe Feret is a renowned chef from NYC and Paris. (Windows on the World trade center), Executive of bakeries in France and other exclusive establishments. He works hard to have the best products and your cookie cutter review calls for cupcakes and doughnuts which is not what we do.

5. Advice from us?.... You cannot take a test drive in a Tesla if you are used to Mazda.

Next time please let us know in person if you are not satisfied we will be sure that you will not leave unhappy! Thank you
