We have stayed at this hotel many times, and it has been average, at best on the interior. This time, they are undergoing renovations that I was told would be completed prior to our stay. You cannot pull up to the hotel due to construction and there is dust from ongoing work. We had a deluxe double queen ocean view room on the 4th floor but you can barely see the ocean over the trees. Request a higher floor if you want an ocean view. Our room was upgraded and they did a great job with everything except the furniture desperately needs to be replaced. The room was large and everything functioned properly. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything from your neighbors and hallway. Luckily, we had quiet neighbors. Our balcony was pretty much unusable due to construction debris. The restaurant is obscenely overpriced so we did not visit. Luckily, there are a couple of places within waking distance. We ate at Big Jims and it was absolutely fantastic. The weather was cool and cloudy so we tried Pickleball nearby and it was a blast. The hotel could not make reservations for us but did provide a phone number. It was a lot of fun and you can just walk to Big Jims in your casual attire for a great meal overlooking the golf course! On nice days, the hotel is in a great spot with beautiful beach front, two pools, a great beach bar and a lot of seating.
Recommend you call and talk to a Manager before booking so you can try to get an honest answer as to when construction will be done. The front desk did tell us they would wave the cancellation fee if we wanted to leave. We decided to stick it out but just be aware of what is going on before you book. Hopefully the facelift this hotel is getting will be worth it!

This is a tired hotel. The front entry is being renovated, making it difficult to access the lobby. The furniture in our room is showing a lot of wear and tear. Bathrobes are listed as an amenity but none were present, nor was there even a luggage rack. The bathroom has been updated but only has one sick in our upgraded room. The noise from the adjoining room came easily through the door to that room (thankfully, management called to ask them to quiet down and they did). One of our balcony chairs was rusted and broken, but it was quickly replaced. On the plus side, there is a ton of ocean front pool and deck space; the views from the rooms over the ocean and of sunrise are some of the best on the island. Parking is easy and free. Central location in the island is a plus.

Room tip: Elevators are small and there can be a long wait for them at peak check-in and out times.

The resort is undergoing renovations yet the Bonvoy app doesn't tell you that. Noise, dust and line ups at check-in doesn't help justify the 450usd per night rate. Rooms have issues with old and damaged toilet cover and general appearance is not worth the money. Poolside bar and sea views from there was the only saving grace. All that and not even complimentary coffee in the lobby. With resort fees and taxes you would expect more.

We were told hotel was doing some construction work upon reserving a room however it was very extensive. The front entrance and driveway were completely dug up and you had to carry your luggage from an outdoor parking lot several hundred feet away which was very inconvenient. Noisy Power washers and sprayer were running all day even Saturday. We reserved a deluxe king oceanfront room several weeks prior to our arrival but were told at check in that our room was under maintenance so they would have to find us another room. We waited in the lobby for 45 minutes while they searched for a room. After traveling 8 hours to get there …that was annoying. Also, the entire hotel grounds are supposed to be non-smoking but the room below us had smokers on their balcony and the smoke was so bad on our balcony that we could not enjoy sitting out there. We were also disappointed that only one restaurant was open on the premises with a very limited menu.

This is the worst Marriott I have ever stayed in. I was here for a work conference; supposed to stay Wednesday through Saturday but left a day early as my room was dirty and roach infested. I have never had to leave a hotel early because of poor conditions before and I’m thankful my conference presentations were over by Friday. I was literally killing roaches and not telling my mother about some of them so that she could sleep better. Friday morning I told her there were about 10 from Wednesday night to Thursday night, and that we were packing immediately and getting our stuff into the car.

I spoke to three staff members about this issue over 2 days: one seemingly faked an apology and blew me off, the other one did not even flinch when I mentioned the roaches. This is obviously a common problem. Shout out to Jessica who was actually nice, apologetic, and followed up with me. It’s really upsetting that the room was so disgusting and there were so many roaches that I barely slept each night, because the outdoor and lobby areas are nice, the beach location is great, and I enjoyed the food.

This hotel is extremely run down and needs a complete overhaul.
