This was our first visit to The Monarch but now our kids say they want to come back again! We met other families vacationing and some have been coming for 20+ years and return often. When we walked in our room, we were floored with the beautiful, clean rooms, the spacious rooms, the nice furniture, and the stocked laundry rooms with vacuums, extra paper towels, and laundry detergent. We had plenty of towels for the week and didn’t need room service all week. When we were low on supplies, I let the FD know and they arrived within an hour with a follow up phone call as well! Lauren was very pleasant and attentive at the FD. Both my husband and I used the FC- mostly weights. We had to sign up on the hr and it was cleaned in between. There were industrial wipes to clean after yourself too and water fountains off. It was nice to see how every employee wore masks whether they passed you inside or out. The pools were clean from debris and you could smell chlorine, which felt clean to use. I was able to swim laps at 10 am with very little company if at all! My girls enjoyed splash pad and both pools. We were not informed of the construction when we booked. The shuffle boards, chess game, and “spa area” are closed and gated off. We loved the loveseat wood swing near the little lagoon. We also loved the beach access! Beware on the beach. We had to get out of ocean 2x for sharks. LOTS of stingrays in surf. You can see them all around! My husband got stung once by a stingray. My daughter got cut on her heel by something and all of us got stung by jellies several times each. My other daughter was shuffling her feet in the water (as lifeguards tell you to do to not startle stingrays) and She got a 2 inch fishhook in the top of her foot w/ a 2oz weight attached! It was unreal. We took a break from the beach after that to enjoy the pools. Kitchen: really loved the Tupperware in cabinets to store extra leftovers. Awesome fridge and large freezer! Suggestion-Add keurigs in kitchens. Also would be nice if tinfoil was provided. Also, we had VERY little water pressure on the fifth floor and it took about ten minutes for the master shower to warm up. Flutterby’s is a great little market to get some basics such as snacks, beer, wine. TVs and channel options excellent in each room. And I slept amazingly. Our beds were so, so comfy! We normally sleep on a tempurpedic but both my husband and I slept well on the pillow top mattresses. Parking was close to our building and well kit parking lot. We didn’t rent bikes while we were there but there were plenty styles to rent! The Monarch is a well run, clean, friendly, enjoyable and relaxing place to call home away from home!!

The resort is nice - nice location right on the beach. Unit could have been a little cleaner but I cleaned it before we got settled so no big deal. I went to talk to the guy renting bikes to inqure how we would go about it and he told me I should rent a bike right away for our evening ride I was planning. I told him I need to come back with my son to make sure we get the right size and he told me he's been doing this for 10 years, he can ensure he gives me the right size. I gave him my son's info and he gave us bikes. This evening when we went to ride, low and behold the bike is way too big for my son and he can't ride it. So, I guess we're out the money and don't get to do our evening bike ride. Very disappointing.

Hi Linda, thank you for your review of Marriott's Monarch. We are very sorry to hear that the bike was too large for your son, typically the front desk is able to assist with exchanging bikes. Our team would be happy to discuss your experience with you, if you would like you may contact us at 800 936 6824 or by email at customer.advocacy@vacationclub.com.

Great location on the beach, 2 pools, nice grounds, bike rentals on site, close to Harbour Town and more. 2nd bedroom twin beds a bit small for older kids. Unit itself though was great, and the staff was super friendly.

The Resort is incredible in many ways. It is located in Hilton Head Island SC. The drive to the resort is beautiful seeing the mossy trees and old homes.Once you arrive at the security gate and are allowed to enter into the community where the resort is located, then you drive through the area of homes and resorts. The front desk & office staff were amazing, so nice and helpful. We had a pool front room close to the beach. The view was beautiful. Our visit was during the corona virus so the large pool, bar, stores, jacuzzi were closed. The small pool and heated lap pool were open for a few days. The beach access is onsite. The resort rents bikes. The beach was nice, quiet and large. We rode a bikes down the beach and enjoyed the view of beach homes and resorts. There were deer on the beach. People were walking their dogs, exercising riding bikes, building sand castles, sun tanning and swimming. Later we rode the bikes through the community and took pictures. In the evening we drove a short distance to shopping area, grocery stores, ABC stores, and many more places. When we returned to the room we cooked supper in the fully stocked kitchen and sat out by the pool at the tables where you can hear the ocean, then went out to watch the sunset on the beach. We stayed in a 2br unit and it was gorgeous. updated with nice furniture and decor. I felt proud to bring a friend with me to stay in this resort. I like it much better than the unit I own in Myrtle Beach, but there wasn't a sales team to speak with d/t the corona virus. The front office practiced all of the requirements of CV-19 recommendations. 6ft Social Distancing, clean sterilized rooms and eventually completely closed the resort. The bedrooms were very nice and spacious. The only thing I was not crazy about was the twin beds in the 2nd bedroom, but I am sure they have suites with other options. The master bathroom shower was large enough for 4 people with stone. There was a separate room with a toliet, large linen closet and closet for clothing with a safe. The bedrooms had dressers with drawers for storage and there was a nice dresser in the hallway close to living room for the guests that sleeps on the pull out couch. There was a nice big dining table and a bar for seating. The laundry room was large with plenty of amentities. a clothes basket, shelves for storage, stackable washer dryer, flashlight, pacnplay bed for babies or toddlers. The LR was spacious and TV's in both bedrooms and LR.

This is 2nd time we'd stayed at the Hilton Head Monarch Marriott at the renowned Sea Pines Plantation at Sea Pines. We had a roomy 2-bedroom villa with home-like comforts, including a private balcony, fully-equipped kitchen for the family and TVs in main room as well as bedrooms. On-site amenities including swimming pools (too cold in early March for that), splash pad for the kids, and outdoor whirlpool spas. Several golf courses are nearby and I even signed up for tennis lessons at nearby Sea Pines racquet club-a 5-minute drive. Discount coupons are provided for restaurants, etc. We took extensive walks on the beach. I love the southern moss hanging from the trees! Savannah is about 35 minutes away; shops and restaurants along the river are enjoyable as are walks through numerous parks!

Room tip: Higher up rooms offer good views of the place if not in oceanfront room
