Best time to go is early in the day. The later you go the farther out the tide is and you have to walk a LONG way to get to the waterline. There is no lifeguards out here but it's very private and secluded. Mostly locals here. We went 3 times during our stay.

This is an off the beaten path historic gem. Lots of SC history and few crowds. The trek out to Fish Haul Beach is lengthy but well worth it! Great boardwalk out to viewing station overlooking salt marsh along the way. Trails were covered with soft mulch which is nice.

Having been fortunate enough to sit down with someone who lived on HHI his entire life, we went on on our journey loaded with maps marked with "requirements." We have been coming to HH for over 20 years and we had no idea of the multiple lenses required to embrace the racial and cultural depth that calls for understanding. We encourage you to dig deeper...to spend more time...to find the hidden treasures.

This is a nice beach to walk especially at low tide. As we walked the beach all sorts of little creatures scattered into the water.

While we just walked the beach several brave souls walk 2 to 3 hundred yards from the shore. There are several walkable stone islands which also is teaming with wild life. A great place to take kids!

Looking for some place to see the water and ended up here. Did not see much water, but did learn about more of the history of the island.
