We travel to McClellanville just for their buffet every so often, so this is a several times a year visit. The buffet is reasonably priced and they have plenty of tables if you look in the back. Get a chicken breast on your first trip to the buffet table, because you will want a slice of roast beef or ham, depending on what they have on the serving table on your second trip. The greens are seasoned with ham and are awesome, just like in every southerner's dreams. The mac and cheese are dripping with cheese as it should be and the beans are tasty and seasoned as well. Awesome food and they keep the buffet well supplied. Lots of people eat, so the food is never standing on the buffet table getting cold, so it is always hot food and fresh. This is one of my wife's favorite places to eat and worth the 37 mile drive from our home for a lunch every now and then.

My husband, a guest, and I stopped here heading back to Mt. Pleasant after visiting Hampton Plantation. We were hungry and there are not many places along the way, and when we saw the "Restaurant" sign, we pulled into the parking lot. I was a little put off by the name of the restaurant, but again, we were hungry! From the outside it looks like a no-frills place, and when we walked inside, the no-frills ambiance is certainly real. We were there between the lunch and dinner hours, so it was an off-time, but there were customers at several tables and several others walked in for take-out or had called ahead and stopped in to pick up their orders. We were greeted warmly and asked if we wanted to take out or eat in; we chose to eat in. Then we were asked if we wanted the buffet or the menu. We told the hostess this was our first time here, and she suggested we take a look at the buffet - wow, there were lots of choices and it all looked great!! But, we already had dinner plans and decided to order off the menu so as not to eat too much. Our party had a burger, a fried oyster salad, and a fried chicken salad. All of us were delighted with our choices. The food was fresh and cooked perfectly. I kept eyeing that buffet and know we will be back! This place is a genuine find! It's obviously a hit with the locals and that is another plus for us when we look places to eat. So glad we stopped here!

to be honest, its the ONLY spot of its kind for MILES....and I mean country miles...LOL
They typically offer a buffet selection of items ranging from different meats & sides.
During our trip, they made a FRESH batch of chicken and had us WAIT for it. My, was it worth the wait. They had a few different options of veggies---(squash, greens, corn, and sweet peas.) Now "normally.....I refrain from them, but after seeing person upon person in our group not only TRY them....but RETURN for some, I gave in too. EVEN their sweet peas were yummy.

They had some type of gravy smothered meat, 3 types of rice - white & two fried types and OF COURSE mac & chz.

Our server was pleasant and kinda left us alone, which I like.

There is a FULL BAR, dance floor, and TV in the back portion.
We were told it becomes a club-type vibe on Friday nights....
So needless too say, we tried it out.
* blink - blink *
There was no cover, the front is VERY lit and you need to walk thru the front part to the back...where it was JAMMED packed. The music was country rap....idk

The bartender was completed slammed and ONLY took cash, if you wanted to use a debit card.........you had to walk to the front register.

Yeah- - - - ummm, no...........we were good.
Besides ALL of the "locals" just looked at us like WHO ARE YALL.

Stick to the lunch OR dinner time............
