Enjoyed a long weekend at the park. Lots of activities: golf, archery, skeet shooting, boating and swimming (when it warms up). Three trails provide a variety of legths for hiking or mountain biking. Camping, cabins, lodge and barracks for all group sizes.

We visit every year after Christmas for a few days of fishing on Clark's Hill Lake. Cabins have been remodeled and have everything needed for a few nights. Boat ramp is just a few hundred yards from cabin.

This state park is South Carolina's best kept secret; it is beautiful; the cabins have been recently refurbished; the staff is friendly and welcoming; the lodge food is great;
rates for these services are amazingly low. This is the only park in the SC Park system that serves meals. Excellent trails abound nearby; historical preservation is also in close proximity.

HKSP is a beautiful park. However, the accommodations are a little aged. They are in the process of renovating rooms, but we didn't get one of those. The first room we were in was full of mildew and we asked to be moved. They graciously did so. The second room was better but still had the slight odor of mildew.

Room tip: Ask for one of the newly renovated rooms
