This hotel has no elevator. If your musty smelling room with a broken chair and banged up furniture is on the 2nd floor, you must schlep everything you want to your room on your own, there is no staff to assist with this problem. We had to make 2 call to fix cable TV issues and another for a bathroom sink that would not drain. If I had not brought my own outlet strip/ surge protector we would have to choose between using our laptops that we needed to use to keep up on hurricane Irma & when we could go back to Hilton Head Island or having a refrigerator and microwave. The punk "Cody" covered in tattoos at the front desk was unapologetic when we told him of the outlet prob. and said we could go to Walmart and get one, he was just as uncaring about anything else we weren't happy with. Wee were pleased to see an attached restaurant and bar only to find out that there was only one person working in the whole place Dave. Dave was very kind and helpful suggesting places to eat. We were not happy at all with this hotel. We were also overcharged by an internet service for this room during a crisis and I find that disgusting. The women at the front desk were kind with goo attitudes who were helpful as were the maintenance people who solved TV & drain issue. The stairwell area we had to walk up was peeling paint, peeling wallpaper and the ice machine didn't work and I had to go very far out of my way to get ice. That might seem minor but it a just another let down. I work at Sonesta resort on Hilton Head Island & know how guests should be treated. It doesn't take much effort to make guests feel welcome and help them out. Being that your rooms lack outlets, you should upgrade the electric or have power strips available for guests. It wouldn't hurt to have the front desk at least have matching Ramada shirts for somewhat of a professional look, the maintenance guys were wearing Ramada shirts, Cody had a tee shirt & flip flops on.
The staff was very accommodating and room was pleasant and clean. The bed was super comfortable! A delightful stay and and if we come that way again we will definitely stay!
The staff was great. They are really friendly and you can tell they care about their guests. They really try hard to make your stay a good one. But... the hotel is a dirty, old, and in desperate need of renovation and bug extermination.
