Susan greeted us and was flexible about what time we arrived. She gave us a recommendation for a restaurant for dinner. Since it was a Sunday evening some places were closed (like all the shops on the main street). We stayed in the Blue Jay room, which is large and has a queen bed and is decorated beautifully. There were two luggage stands, which was nice. There was also a seating area right outside our room. There was a refrigerator on the second floor, where our room was, filled with beverages which guests were welcome to. We had a choice of what we wanted for breakfast and we chose pancakes (could have plain, nut or blueberry). We also had fruit and sausage. The food was good.

Room tip: The Blue Jay room was nice, but all the rooms looked beautiful.

I love big old houses and this lovely manor fits the bill! Weather-beaten on the exterior just enough to give it charm and beautifully maintained on the interior. Susan, the owner/innkeeper was pleasant in every respect from our first phone conversation to our cheerful goodbye's. The rooms are very clean, quite large and beautifully decorated. We only stayed one night but would gladly stay longer. The inn was full the night we stayed and breakfast was family style around a large dining table the next morning. Delicious breakfast and Susan goes out of her way to see that everyone has what they need. For us, she set up an early coffee pot, upstairs near our bedroom, because when asked, we told her we particularly appreciate coffee before breakfast. This Inn is a wonderful find and well worth the very reasonable price. Susan, if you're reading this, be sure to give "Sam" a scruffle for us. Sam is a wonderful black lab whom we very much enjoyed meeting.

We spent one night here and I wish it had been the whole weekend! I found it through Trip Advisor because there is very little choice in the area in terms of lodging. I sent an email and Susan emailed me back promptly with details. Prices were very reasonable and we were going to be in the area for the annual 43 mile yard sale, The Big Grab, which encompasses Winnsboro, Ridgeway, and Blythewood. We had a wonderful time! Susan was hospitable and even turned down our queen comfy bed in the evening! So quiet, and relaxing. The train in the early morning didn't wake me at all, it was strangely comforting. Breakfast was family style with the others that were staying. Great conversation, and the food was fantastic! Blueberry and pecan pancakes, bacon, sausage, fresh kiwi, and cantaloupe. Perfect!

With few exceptions I find chain hotels boring. The architecture and room are predictable , the in-room ventilation system is noisy, the complimentary breakfast lame. My experience at Songbird Manor stood in sharp contrast to that. While the exterior wood portion of the 1919 brick home is in need of paint, the interior is exquisitely maintained and beautifully but not over-fussily furnished (a flaw of so many other B & B's). Susan was a most pleasant and professional owner/in-keeper. She enhanced our sense of place with stories about Winnsboro's past and present. Breakfast, to order, was delicious. Definitely will return next time I am in the area. The charge for this great place makes it a steal.

What a rare find ! On a stopover from Cleveland to Orlando we wanted to stay somewhere other than the conventional hotel chain. Susan the innkeeper was terrific . Easy to find off of I77. Directions are spot on on the webpage. We had the place to ourselves , the rooms are immaculate the breakfast was absolutely delicious in the main dining room. So much history that Susan sat down with us and shared. A great nights sleep. Would definitely stay here again.
