We wanted a place to stay located to close to Prairie Berry Winery. Most of the motels in Hill City were closed for the season. We reached out to Mountains to Prairies in hopes that they would have a room available which they did. What a perfect weekend...
The owners made us feel comfortable, the room was quaint and cozy. We woke up to a wonderful "made from scratch" breakfast, we will be back.
Thank you so much...

We've stayed at Mountains to Prairies on two occasions (a total of 12 days) and will certainly return again on our next visit to the Black Hills. The term "B&B" isn't entirely accurate in this case since "bed" hardly describes the fully equipped private cabin spaces that Sam and Linda have created. The breakfasts are also superb. Linda creates a wonderful variety of very tasty and satisfying breakfasts. For those accustomed to "dainty" breakfasts more common to B&Bs, the large but elegant meals served at MtoP will be quite a change. We've stayed at many B&Bs and enjoy the variety of accommodations. When visiting the Black Hills, however, we will be sure to return only to Mountains to Prairies.

My husband and I stayed at Mountains to Prairies after riding our bicycles on the Mickelson Trail all day. We had a peaceful and quiet stay there. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was filling. They serve a picnic style breakfast on Sunday mornings and it is delivered the night before. The breakfast included some hard boiled eggs, homemade muffins, juices, cheese and some fruit. Our room had a jacuzzi tub in it and we needed it after biking all day. Sam, our host, showed us around the room and explained the specifics to us. He made sure we had everything we needed. The room was tastefully decorated with antiques. The room did border on being a bit cluttered with too many antiques but not enough to turn us off. We will definately be staying here again.

Ok, the proprietors are soooo nice. Mom and I hit the road and stayed here for three nights. We met with Sam and Linda, and they are so sweet and helpful it was af they were our cousins who were welcoming us in for a visit.
I am not used to nice people like this! They made sure our comforter was sparkling clean from the washer when we arrived, and also let us check in hours early. The room was very cute and very very clean. We were in the "Beary" suite. Jetted tub, comfy bed and extra sitting room made this a nice place to relax after sightseeing all day.
Sam went out of his way to make sure we had a nice time, and even packed a to go breakfast when we mentioned we had to get moving early the next day. Totally unexpected, totally delicious and very thoughtful. Also, they make THE BEST COFFEE AND TEA SMOOTHIES. And they are free with breakfast. Knock me down with a feather.
Lovely place, lovely people. Go.

Recently, after considering several different B & B's in South Dakota, we stayed at a little place called Mountains to Prairies Bed & Breakfast. Although we only stayed 3 nights, we thoroughly enjoyed it. The owners were very accommodating and friendly. They were priced much more fairly than several other places we looked at and it was right in town, so walking distance to just about everything. They only have 3 rooms to rent and each has it's own entrance, which we prefer. The rooms were very cozy and nicely decorated. We felt like we were staying in a country cabin in the woods. It was surprisingly quiet as well, even though it's on the main street. For a small place I was surprised they offered Dish TV and HBO as well as WIFI. We wished we would have stayed longer, as our next stop on our trip seemed so cold and dull in comparison. I would definitely stay here again!
