You cannot beat the breakfast! Absolutely elegant. Happy hour on the huge porch...what a wonderful time. Visiting Chattanooga, what a wonderful place to stay.
Quiet street...close to everything

Very relaxed.

Room Tip: I don't think there are any bad rooms. We had 3 rooms and all were great. Coffee and tea right outside your door.

We stayed here for two nights. As long-term B & B travelers (100+), we find that service is just as important as the actual facility in how good your stay is. This is a large stone late 19c mansion on a hilltop about a mile from downtown Chattanooga. It's actually a bit more like a boutique hotel. It's adjacent to the campus of UT-Chattanooga, and good restaurants are within a five minute drive. The common rooms have the exquisite furnishings (mostly original to the house) you often see in a Gilded Age residence, including many beautiful paintings. We had the Cumberland Suite, a very large room on the top floor. The room was lovely and well furnished with a King Bed and large bathroom with a dressing table. Note that this room is on the 3rd floor and it's a good climb to get up there (no elevator), but staff will help you with your bags. The only complaints on the room were that the flat screen TV is small and a little hard to see from the bed, and the shower pressure was weak.

They do an excellent job of providing great service----some of the staff members have been there for many years, and are always there to help with whatever you need. The 3-course breakfast in the lovely dining room was truly gourmet (almost more than you can eat)---creative dishes which were very tasty. Other aspects indicating the emphasis on service here is the bottle of chilled champagne and chocolates in your room when you arrive, 24 hour access to inn staff, and food and wine which can be delivered to your room. Parking is plentiful on site. Overall, this was an excellent stay for us---you won't go wrong here.

Room Tip: All of the rooms seem to be large and well furnished. The Cumberland Suite does require climbing two flights of fairly steep steps.

Mansion built in the late 1800's has unbelievable architecture and craftsmanship. We enjoy just wandering from room to room and the breakfast was quite good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed on the third floor in a roo. With Oriental decore and slept quite well.

This bed and breakfast is gorgeous. The room was huge with a giant four poster bed and even a fireplace. The bathroom was equally huge. Even in the old building, the wifi was great. My only very slight complaint was the room was very cold, even though it was quite warm outside. The three-course breakfast was excellent. The staff is very nice. It was also nice to wander around the rooms downstairs to take in the history of the building. It is within walking distance to the UTC campus.

The staff and food were exceptional. The mansion is beautiful and a perfect setting for a relaxing weekend getaway. An added bonus is it's within walking distance of downtown Chattanooga with great restaurants.
