My wife and I chose "Glamping at Deer Camp" for a much needed break away from daily life. This was our first time glamping and I must say that we're both absolutely addicted! Lori and Mitch were phenomenal hosts, and they made us feel completely welcome from the moment we arrived. Walking through the area will reveal countless little details that were specifically chosen to create a wonderful experience. The cabin is extremely cozy and warm. It has gas heat, a TV, Wi-Fi, board games, books, and some awesome snacks such as cider, hot cocoa, and moon pies. The cabin is the perfect size for two people on a retreat with a comfortable bed and reading space. The bath house is a remarkable experience that you never want to leave. The sink is set in a classic cask, the shower supplies endless hot water, and the gas fireplace ensures a completely "comforting" experience that you will find extremely difficult to leave. Finally my wife and I enjoyed the classic camping experience by building a fire in the pit, roasting hot dogs, making smores, and enjoying absolute seclusion and quite. At night with a fire you can see absolutely nothing outside of your immediate area and the sounds of the woods are all you will hear. It is very easy to forget you're 15 minutes from a wal-mart as it feels like you're truly on your own little outdoor planet. Overall I am blown away and wish I could give more than five stars. This property belongs on HGTV or in a magazine. It is truly impressive to behold and you will not be disappointed. If you're looking for a retreat from life then BOOK THIS PROPERTY! You will not regret it for a second.
Wow! Just wow! I wish I could give this place more stars.
The bed was comfortable, the pour over coffee was kind of like a Keurig for campers, there were really nice Camp chairs by the large fire pit. And this time of year is perfect to open all the screened windows (which are cool, they're on pulleys) and let a breeze through. Soft glowing string lights everywhere make it where you're not creeped out even a little walking to the bathhouse late at night. And OMG the bathhouse. I've never taken a shower with gas log fireplace. Talk about ambiance. It's both very rustic with lots of rusty tin and yet somehow very posh!
I don't drink soda, but still appreciated the thoughtfulness that went into the cooler of ice with a couple of cokes and some water. There was shake and pour pancake mix for breakfast with syrup. And this cute tiny oven that just makes you want to bake something in it!
There's a tv which would be nice if you got rained in. A nice selection of books. A few board games. And the wifi was good. It really was glamping.
Stay here. You won't be sorry.
