We only stayed one night at the Carnegie but I would definitely stay here again if I were to be in this area again. I booked through Hotels.com and saved a considerable amount of money when compared to the hotel's website. That being said I was not treated any different by the hotel staff. They were warm and welcoming. We booked a room with 2 Queen beds and they gave us a room with 1 king. We returned to the front desk and they promptly fixed the problem and were apologetic and moved us up to a higher floor for the minor inconvenience. The rooms are extremely spacious, the bathroom is huge with a shower and a separate tub. Everything was clean. Most importantly the rooms feel like bedrooms as they were extremely comfortable sleigh beds. You cannot go wrong with this hotel at all. I would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Beautiful hotel and so clean and comfortable.

My wife and I, and our dog Ellie, highly recommend the Carnegie. We found the hotel to be remarkably affordable and a great value. It has a luxury hotel atmosphere and wonderful seating areas for family groups throughout the main lobby, in the impressive Roosevelt Library, and on the downstairs floor where a full service spa is located. That was very important to us because we invited local family to meet and exchange gifts in a grand hotel setting of blazing fireplaces, warm ornate woods, Holiday music and Christmas trees (not to mention the giant Victorian Santa). We were told the hotel's dining room was closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but were pleased the food and beverage manager created a guide to other local dining spots that were open. And not initially expecting it, it was also a nice surprise to find a Continental breakfast served Christmas morning. By carrying our food into the beautiful, adjoining library we were able to discreetly dine with our dog nearby (as you're not supposed to leave pets unattended in rooms). Pet-friendly rooms are refreshingly located on the ground floor with easy access to the lobby and outdoor "rest areas." The rooms also have what are likely the best king-size beds we've ever enjoyed (seriously, they rival those at Claridge's Hotel in London). Nice big rooms, sofa, refrigerator, beautiful decor and bathrooms. The hotel conveniently connects to Wellington's Restaurant so reputedly good dining (according to family) is steps away. The staff was very engaging and responsive to all our requests. We'll be back. Ellie will too.

Room Tip: Pet friendly rooms are on the lobby level, very convenient. Ours had a nice view of the attractive summer pool area.

Luxurious Hotel and Spa conveniently located near ETSU, Johnson City and Jonesboro, this fabulous hotel is a faithful recreation of a hotel than burned in 1910.
I was fascinated when I found out the Carnegie was new. The ambience, size and decor of spaces and the service are first rate and old world. Had I the time, I would have stayed for a week. First Class and A+ on the Board.
