A group of 20 of us descended on the Cv for lunch yesterday to celebrate my birthday.
We had a fantastic afternoon and were impressed with the service and food.
All our meals came out together, the starters were delicious with moules, trio of hummus and soup order of the day.
The mains were mostly chosen from the 3 roasts on offer but we had the odd burger thrown in there to keep the chefs on their toes.
Everything was piping hot, on time and delicious....the team even came prepared with gallons of horseradish waiting in the wings.
Desert was only for the brave but was definitely worthwhile...chocolate brownie with slated caramel and the cheese boards were definitely given the most attention.
20 people and i didnt hear one complaint or grumble.
The staff were patient with our tardiness and attentive where necessary but it was nice to be left to our own devices for a change, i cant abide over-tentative waiting staff.
From 4 to 34 to 74....we all had a great time and would like to thank the bar, kitchen and waiting staff for all their hard work!

Food was so good, and so much of it, I just want to lie down and take my pants off!

Started with the most delicious rabbit scotch egg with a soft center. Followed by melt in the mouth brisket and place fillets. Only wished we had room for dessert!

We took out US visitors for a business meal to give them the English country experience and we weren't disappointed again. Great food, great beer which they all enjoyed (Butcombe) before heading back to Bristol. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will be back
