Have stayed in many hotels this rates with the best of them, cannot fault anything about our lovely 4 day stay, great location for surrounding day trips, the staff here are so friendly and welcoming always happy to answer our questions re local area, well
cooked breakfast and plentiful. Could not fault the cleanliness everywhere but what we loved most was the old building and how it’s been renovated, contemporary modern whilst keeping many of the old features of a grand building, congrats to Marc and his team, will be back.

We visited for a night as a couple on business. This hotel is excellent. It is clean, well appointed and beautifully finished. Parking is available on site. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great. Would definitely recommend.

Room tip: Parking is available on site but you need to find your way to the rear of the hotel. They will send you instructions. Recommend reading them before you arrive.

We stayed at the George for 4 nights early September, and it was a lovely experience from start to finish.
The hotel has recently been refurbished. Our room was at the rear of the hotel and had been tastefully furnished and decorated, bed was comfortable, no problems sleeping, very quiet, tea and coffee making facilities with biscuits included in the room, all replenished by housekeeping each day. Bathroom had large walk in shower and was spotless clean as were all areas of the hotel.
The breakfast was beautiful and served in a lovely light and spacious room.
There is a lounge /bar area for tea/coffee, cakes and alcoholic beverages. The bar has an excellent selection to suit all tastes.
South Molton is a market town and is well situated for exploring both inland and coastal Devon. Numerous eateries are within easy reach.
The last word must be reserved for all the excellent staff at the George, always pleasant and helpful, a wonderful asset to the hotel.
We will return

We stayed at the George in Septemeber whilst visiting family in town. The hotel was an amazing find, beautifully decorated, clean and the staff could not do enough for us! We stayed in one of the newly converted bedrooms and it was very comfortable, the bed was comfy and the decor tasteful.

Breakfast was delicious and served to the table, which was laid lovely and felt very covid safe!

The town is quaint and we enjoyed browsing the market, the hotels location is ideal for exploring the wider area, we had trips out to see amazing scenery across Exmoor, Lynton and Lynmouth, Westward Ho and Dulverton.

Although the George don’t serve evening meals, there were plenty places to go out for dinner just a short drive away. We managed to book up a few evenings out and then returned back the The George for a night cap!

We look forward to returning again for sure.
Excellent value for money, worth every penny.

Lovely clean modern hotel, really friendly staff. Room was comfortable and spacious. So accommodating. If they hadn’t of been booked up over next couple of nights we would of stayed longer! The young lady with dark hair who was serving behind the bar and dealt with our booking ( should of got her name) was lovely. Nothing was too much trouble.

Room tip: All rooms looked lovely had a peak through the doors whilst the staff ( very friendly) were cleaning they looked so nice.
