We booked into The Boathouse on the last night of a family break in the East Neuk, we arrived a little early, but our table was ready and we were seated straight away, although waiting in the bar wouldn't have been an issue as they had live music on and it was sounding great.

On arrival the staff were very friendly and welcoming, drinks orders were taken and brought over very quickly. Good orders followed shortly thereafter.

The starters arrived in very good time, I had the seafood chowder and it was perhaps the best seafood chowder I have ever had, it was really tasty and full of haddock, check the picture, this was a meal in itself. My wife had the mushroom soup, this was also a very generous helping and tasted great. The kids had garlic bread, which they thoroughly enjoyed.

For the main event I had the King Prawn Kebabs, again a very healthy portion and very tasty, my wife had another starter, which wasn't far away from a main course size and the kids had chicken and chips and fish and chips from the kids menu, good sized portions and they loved them.

All in all we had a fantastic meal, staff were first class and the food was lovely, also a good selection of beer and wines. It was fully booked and I would recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment as a few walk ups had to be turned away.

We will definitely be back.

We went to this restaurant as we found the fish bar in the same street absolutely packed with queues that seemed to stretch for ever.

The food was excellent, The staff were friendly and efficient and altogether this was a great place to go and eat.

Would highly recommend it. Don't waste time in the queues for the "famous" Fish Bar.

Ps. They have a comprehensive menu. Not just fish and chips.

Great wee bar and restaurant. Lovely food - soups are especially delicious. Very welcoming staff, friendly and efficient service. Usually some live music at the weekend. Another bonus is that the bar area is dog friendly.

Booked a table for 4, on arrival we were seated the place is quite small and very warm ,the staff couldn't do enough for us they were excellent we had 3 fish and chips and my daughter is a vegetarian so she had the macaroni and garlic bread which she says was delicious. Our fish and chips was delicious and the prices were very fair def will be back

Great pub and restaurant, friendly staff, great view from garden and lovely food. Very nice spot to visit. garden decked area is a nice little sun trap
