Hello Dave,
I'm sorry that you did not enjoy your stay. We have had the hotel only since September last year. We have already started an upgrade program on the hotel. Could you give us details of the dates that you stayed, so that we can investigate further ?

My husband and I , have stayed at this hotel on various occasions, and were never disappointed. When we arrived , the staff were very polite and pleasant, as always. We were very disappointed to find out Ronnie and Fay , previous owners had sold the hotel.Seemingly the owner had other hotels abroad and was not hands on. The young chap that was running it was her son. We met him that same night , it would have been nice if he had keep to the smart hotel uniform of black trousers and lilac shirt, but instead he had a dark jumper and jeans that were hanging at the bottom, rather scruffy looking, and was wearing the same clothes at breakfast. We had a meal in the restaurant that night. There had been changes in the menu, and not for the better. I had salmon served with a few green leaves with a sprinkling of capers over the top. Salmon was nice but wouldn't have served it with capers. For my main course I had monk fish wrapped in cooked parma ham ,with chorizo and pea risotto. The monkfish was nice ,but strange to have the ham cooked, didn't think much to the risotto. There wasn't even any type of fruit crumble on the menu. The way I look at it if something works , don't change it.

Lovely weekend away at the Lomond hills hotel, the highlight was the outstanding quality of the food, which was beautifully presented and full of flavour, the rooms were a little dated, but were clean and spacious, and the housekeeper kept the room topped up with fresh linen and tea and coffee, the only minor niggle was the lack of water pressure in the shower. The staff were all friendly and keen to make sure you were having a pleasant stay, already thinking about a future visit.

Sorry this is a bit late, internet problems here!! We travelled to Freuchie to arrange a funeral, staying in the village, but with no provisions for food. It was many years since I'd been in the Lomond Hills, but remembered that it had always been excellent. Our trip fell at the same time that Alex and Jan took ownership, so we were bit little wary of what changes may have taken place. We had nothing to worry about. Alex and Jan were marvellous, making us feel like part of their family and the food, fantastic -the Bailey's dessert was to die for. A huge thank you to everyone for everything you did for us including the funeral tea. No complaints there either. Hope to return sometime.

Thank you so much for your review. We are happy that you enjoyed your high tea. We appreciate your comments about the dining room, which does need refurbishment and this is on our program of upgrades.
