Meal was rushed out as they were busy, no attention to detail, hardly any food on the plate, but still charging premium prices. Won't be going back, despite there not being many alternatives on Arran which is really poorly served for restaurants. Save your appetite and get something decent when you get back to the mainland!

Dear Guest,
We are always disappointed to get a review like this. We actually wondered if you had meant to post it for another restaurant as we serve some of the largest portions at the most reasonable prices on the island. Furthermore, we try to check with every table that they are satisfied with their food and had no complaints since re-opening post works on Saturday. Also confusing is that Arran is an award winning island and ranked in the top 10 islands in Europe to visit, yet you go on to advise people not to bother eating on the island as all the restaurants here are poor and better to wait till visitors return to the mainland. I had a look at your profile and other reviews and can't see who it is you are comparing us to. All the reviews you have written are full of complaints and you give everyone low ratings. The only positive thing you've written on tripadvisor is about a cheap roll you found in a bakers in the Netherlands.
I am sorry the you did not enjoy your meal here and wish you luck on your travels.

Very clean and tidy, great location, staff friendly. Generally a great location if you're planning a trip around the Isle of Arran. I stayed with my two boy in the family room and apart from the arguments about who was getting the single bed and who had to share the double, we had a great stay and would definitely go back.

Stayed at The Lamlash Bay Hotel for my Uncle's 50th Birthday. There was 25 of us staying (we were lucky enough to rent out the entire hotel) and most stayed Friday-Sunday.

Upon arrival we were greeted by Meg and Serge, who were very welcoming and friendly. They showed us to our rooms which were lovely and clean. I stayed in the family suite which was fantastic, two rooms, a kitchen and a living room. The hotel had a friendly atmosphere, with a cosy bar and restaurant.

The food was great, and the bar was reasonably priced. Service for the meal on the Saturday night was excellent, there was 25 of us to be served and we were not kept waiting.

Thank you so much to Meg, Serge and the rest of the staff for being so accommodating throughout our stay. We had a great time and will definitely be back.

My daughter and I arrived mid-evening on a Friday for a two-night stay and discovered that there was a small mix-up with the reservation. Meg and her staff went far above and beyond the call of duty to fix the problem, accommodate us and make us feel at home, despite the fact that it was a very busy evening with the restaurant and the pub both packed and demanding their full attention. I really can't say enough about how great our experience was here, and would recommend it to anyone both as a place to stay and as a great spot for dinner or for unwinding in the evening (definitely the best pub in the village). Breakfast in the restaurant was hearty and unhurried with lots of options. Our room was excellent, with a very nice view across the water to Holy Island.
